2009 Scrapping goals?

Any goals for 2009?

I want to keep going and not forget to scrapbook things, since I'm going back to work I know I won't get as much done, so I don't want to set a number.

And I checked my hard drive - 2008 brought me 126 new scrapbooking pages! 2007 I did 181, so it's not as many, but I like my work a lot more now!!

Any ideas how many pages you did in 2008?

 I don't think I did near 127, but I did a lot! Well, maybe I did considering I made 3 albums for friends and my sister's wedding album.

My goal is to just keep doing atleast a page a week, so I can track Kayson's milestones and our family things. And I want to create a "year-in-review" mini album in January. That's about it.

I wanted to add that I'm so proud of myself for not buying a SINGLE card in all of 2008!!!!! I made every birthday, anniversary, thank you and Christmas card we sent out. YAY! I told DH I wouldn't need to buy cards with my Cricut and I kept up my end of the bargain. Wink I probably made close to 250 cards this year. Crazy huh?

Woah! That's crazy! And congrats, that's awesome - I love getting homemade cards better (but I rarely get them lol)

Well for me, now that we're finally settled and I've officially got my scrapping room back up and running (as of yesterday), I'm already close to finishing my 1st page. The fun of moving is finding the stuff you put away to scrap many years ago. LOL Yeah, I have found stuff from 2003, if not older. LOL You'll just have to wait and see. Anyways, my goal really would be at least 1 page a week, though, that's really not enough for me. LOL

Good question. I would have to say like 50 or so too...though not sure. I started late also. I hope to continue with at least one page per week, if not more, and I plan to try to do like Charys and not buy any cards this year, to make them all. I really enjoy card making and think they look way better anyway. Smile

I would guess I've done about 75 12x12 pages (paper). I've just started making cards but I've made atleast 20 for swaps plus about 25 for personal use.

My goals are to:
*reset my area after Christmas stuff is packed away
*Make all of my cards that I give away (except Christmas)
*Page a week sounds do-able
*I have lots of random pictures that I love, but haven't been able to use in our 12x12 albums, so I'd like to start a small "outtakes" album.
***First thing as I'm resetting my area, I want to sort through papers/stickers and pull things out for trains/donating...

I am also going to try really hard not to buy anything this year (besides glue/tape).

Hmmm.... I'm not really sure. I go back and forth from scrapbooking/sewing/embroidery. My quess would be around 75 paper pages. I've made quite a few cards too.

My goal: We went to Disney World in summer '07(my first time) and I still have not done the first page. I have a tote full of paper and embellishments but just don't know where to start. There are SOOOOOO many pics to scrap that it's overwhelming.
I think I'm gonna sort them and do one park at a time. Whew whee! I'm sweating just thinking about it.

This year I just want to catch up. In 2008 being pregnant then having my daughter I did not get nearly any layouts done. So I am not putting a number on it but I do want to start scrapping again. I really need to get back to being creative. I really miss it.

I did at least 250 pages in 2008. I'm can't check for sure, but I know I did over 200 because I have 2 full (100-page) books for just 2008 and I did a bunch from 2007 as well, so it may be over 300.

As for 2009, my basic goal will be the same as in 2008: keep up with current pages and go back and finish 2006/2007 (I'm about half done so far). I also want to keep working on technique and style. Now that my computer is a tad faster, I'm hoping to experiment a little more. My new program has more features as well for editing.

Charys, I'm impressed with how much you did. I think paper scrapping is much harder than digital in terms of how much output there is, so I'm amazed how many books you made for others on top of your own. And WOW, that is a lot of cards.

I only did about 40 pages this year, most of them being before May. It's really sad. Sad I need to do T.J.'s entire 3rd year album before mid April because I will then have Alex's album to work on. I like the idea of making all the cards this year. I am horrible about sending cards and it's one of my resolutions to be better at it. It's a nice way to use scraps too. I just had to pack up my scrap room so I am curious to see how much I get accomplished when everything is not laying out.

Well, Hubby convinced me to buy Christmas Cards on clearance today just in case I ever decide not to make Christmas cards. I usually use one box a year- for the bachelors.

My goal is to simply get using my stuff again. Besides Christmas and those Christmas crafts, my stuff has been woefully neglected. When I actually make stuff, I don't get around to sending it.... 3 kids have tired me out.

No doubt about the 3 kids! I can imagine that would take up a ton of your time - and they're what's really important anyways! Smile

Great job everyone! It sounds like 2008 was a pretty successful year!
Stephanie,:eek::eek:! that's a heck of a lot of pages! YAY you!
Michelle, Trina hit the head on the nail...with three kids it's amazing you get any scrapbooking done. I'm always amazed at mom's with more than one child that can accomplish anything. Smile

Whoa! Some of you girls are scrapping addicts! LOL

I'm happy with what I did accomplish, because I think they were quality pages. Smile And I'm also really happy that I could put together some Christmas presents this year!

Next year I think it's pretty realistic to try to get 2 pages per month done. I go through spurts, but maybe I can be more consistent in getting regular time to sit and scrap.

Happy 2009 y'all!

I would like to finally do my wedding scrapbook. Also try to finish Claire's first year and keep working on Parker's book.

I don't think that I did very many pages this year. I did a 20 page 8x8 book of layouts for a wedding (they just had to add pictures), and maybe 20 2 page layouts at the most. Plus all those cards I made for Christmas gifts. I would definetely like to do more this year!

I have no idea how many pages I did ... will have to count but don't have the time to do that. ha ha ha ha

My goal is to catch up ... I'm over 30 layouts behind right now. I want to finish Natalie's professional photo book (at least up until the current time - I'm still at about 9 months in her book, and she's turning 3. We have too many professional portraits!). I also need to re-catch-up on the other kids books as they've gotten new photos taken since I last caught up. Would LOVE to be done with my 2008 book by Easter, but I think that's dreaming. Plus Jack's books - baby book and "professional" picture book (I'm taking the pictures now, but they're all 8x10s which go in a different book).

So really, my scrapbooking goals in 2009 should be about time management and scheduling in the crop time. If I could get 3 pages done a week, I'd be more than thrilled. But I think 2 is more realistic ...

What new program did you get?

I upgraded to the newest version of Microsoft DIP. It seems to do everything that Photoshop does. This new one even has "curves" although I still have no idea what that means Lol

That's cool! I started using PS because DIP was limiting me, but I LOVED how easy it was!! Is it available separately or just with Vista?

Wow Stephanie!! Those books must be HUGE!! Are they all just Andrea's life? I'd love to see one...not that you'd have to do each individual page, but seeing it at least the cover of one. That's amazing!!!

Everyone has such great goals... I want to finish Noah's first year and keep up with his toddler book that I will start. Also I want to go back and do some pages digitally of our wedding.

 Um, I can't imagine doing 300 pages in a year!!! I think I did a total of *maybe* 25 LOs, and about 15 cards. I don't think I bought any cards for anyone - I made them all, but I don't have any extras lying around!

I just started scrapping last January, so I basically have my whole life to scrap lol. Specifically, my wedding, and all the pics since then; some special childhood memories; Cadi's 1st yr and current pics; and I want to keep on top of scrapping this LO's pregnancy, birth and first few months. I like the idea of doing a "year in review" type book, I think my DH would like that. But I guess my actual goals this year are:

Get into the habit of scrapping more often (I love to do it, but weeks and months go by in between sessions!).

Get a Cricut or other similar machine so I can stop wasting money on stickers and alphabets etc and have everything I need for a fabulous LO at home.

Get stocked up on embellishments, clear stamps for journalling, ribbons etc, and have my scrapping space better organized.

Learn new techniques like distressing, dry embossing, using eyelets etc.

Continue making cards instead of buying them, and make extras on the side - thankyous, birthday invites, and make all my Christmas cards this year.

wow, everyone has been soooo busy! I really just picked up scrapping again this past year. I failed my 2008 goal (which was to keep up with DS's album) so my first goal is to get caught up on his album by his first birthday in March. My mom did my wedding album so i don't have to worry about that one but I haven't done anything for an album for DH and I and would like to work on that as well! I also am doing a seperate album for our FL trip but that one will kind of just be a plain 8x8.

Holy cow you ladies are much, much more busier than I was. I didn't have an ounce of scrapping in me from Jan-Aug. We had 3 losses this year, so I would say my mojo was lost along with it. I did make tons of cards, but I was so behind on my yearly scrapbook. I think I made about 6 for our 2008 scrapbook, and about 10 to put in another from when we were dating and Ruthie's first year around Jan. For my 2008 scrapbook so far, I have completed 26 pages. I have about 4 more to make. All together this year, I have completed about 40 or so, I guess. I also made all my cards, but a few Christmas ones. I ran out of time. Wink Last year, my 2007 scrapbook had 60+ pages. I feel bad, but there was just not enough time. I still haven't given Randall the 2008 scrapbook. I need to make a few more pages. He's patient though. Wow, I just rambled a lot....sorry.

My goals for this year-
**Don't get behind.
**I think a page a week sounds really good too.
**Continue making cards, and not buying any.
**Find some good sales on paper b/c I am running really, really low.
