Well, I'm sad I didn't get to play like I wanted to this weekend. But, I did manage to get 3 more calendar pages done. Luckily, artscow allows you to choose what month the calendar starts with! So, I'll have it start with Feb and then the recipients won't have lost a whole month.
Finished Jan, May, and June... I'm half done with Feb, but it's a pain. Mom got the brilliant idea that I should use the filmstrips you see in the June page in the shape of a heart and fill each square with funny pics of the boys for "Funny Valentines". While I love the idea... it's just a pain to do, but I've already got the heart and now I'm just filling it.
Then I just need Aug & Sept, and the cover.
Not sure how happy I am with these, but they're done!
Here's my thread with the others.
YES, I am still working on this thing!!!! It's been a long and eventful week and I haven't had much time to do anything since i last posted.
Here's my problem. My mom wanted the filmstrips in heart idea: one big heart with Robby and 2 smaller hearts for each of the twins. I have filled the big heart with Robby, and I have a ton of pics I can use for the twins, but how busy do you think this will end up? I really have to get this thing DONE and I don't want to waste a lot of time fitting pics in, only to hate the results, kwim?
I could make the page all about Robby, and put a big pic in each of the small hearts, (and change the title to "funny valentine" with no "s" on the end)...
or I could find one or two fave funny pics of the twins for the small hearts, and skip the filmstrips... but all those pics of Robby and just a couple of the twins?? Would that be worse than leaving them off the page altogether? Is it kinda like leaving a 2-cent tip on the table in a restaurant? lol
I would like to keep somewhat equal representation throughout the calendar for all 3 boys, but i don't know if I can. June and April are already just Robby, and a lot of the other pages have mostly Robby simply because Robby has been around longer to take pics of... lol...
Aug & Sept are what I have left and I was planning on bathtime and eating/messy faces for themes on those pages. I have great pics of all 3 boys in mind for those, but I guess I could leave Robby out of one or both.
Mar- just twins
Apr- just Robby
May- all 3
June- just Robby
July- all 3 , but mostly Robby (only 1 pic of twins)
Oct- all 3, but mostly Robby (only 1 pic of twins)
Nov- all 3, 2 pics of twins, 1 of Robby
Dec- all 3, but mostly Robby (only 1 pic of twins)
Jan- all 3
(there's a link above if you want to see the other months)
Sorry this is so long!!!! TFL!!!!
Here it is so far... the title is just sitting there waiting to be placed... not necessarily where I was going to keep it... and I still need to fill in the little white spaces on the ends of the filmstrips where a pic wouldn't fit.
Also, would you say, "Our funny Valentine(s)" or leave off the "our" since it's going to other people too?
Gotta go... sorry again for the length!!
Well, here's what I did....
I might re-do May to include more of the twins. That is the month I held them both together for the first time.
Then I have to decide whether to make Aug and/or Sept about the twins only or include Robby.

Great calendar pages! I like the beach one the best I think.
The beach page is the my favorite! I love the way you used the filmstrips! I wish I could somehow do that with paper scraping!
All three are great! I too love the film strips! And I really love the snowflakes on the first layout. Great work.

Great work! I too love the use of film strips and wish us paper scrappers could incorporate it somehow. Nice pages.

Great Job!!! I love Arts Cow!!!
Thanks all! I think June may be my fave of all of them so far! Of course the main pic on that page is also one of my faves I've ever taken, so that influences my thoughts on it
Forgot to give credits!
The digi filmstrip I used (from ksharonk) was only 3 pics wide, so I put two together to form the longer strips.
The snowflakes were from a brush set by Obsidian Dawn.
Butterfly paper was by xashee.
Sorry i don't have links right now.
Meg & Carrie.... You can create a paper version! Using a square punch and this punch
Here are a couple cards from a punch swap I hosted...
It was meant to make a notebook paper edge like this:
but it seems to have many purposes... (this was also part of my punch art card swap):
Great pages Rita! I think June is my favorite, though.
I wouldn't have thought you could have done the film strips in paper, so thanks for sharing your examples.
