Default 50th Birthday Gift Idea Help

    Hi ladies!

My Mom is turning 50 towards the end of August and I was wondering if anyone had any good project ideas that I could make for her. My Aunt mentioned a paint can filled with memories. But I've already made a paint can. So maybe something else that can incorporate memories. Anyone have some other ideas and maybe a picture or template for me?

    Thanks!

    Kathleen

My mom and I were discussing this the other night. I want to make a scrapbook for her and my dad when their 50th anniversary comes. I think my sister's and I will get together and make them one of their whole lives together. I don't have any other ideas.

That's what I was thinking... some sort of scrapbook timeline type project. Good luck!

Well, this may not apply, but I have a friend whose step-father likes music and for his birthday, she made him an album cover. She had his picture on the front and made up song titles that were applicable to his life. It was really cute. She had the front and back printed on 12x12 paper and framed.

I knew I shoulda posted pics of this before I mailed it yesterday! But I made Kayson's adopted great-grandmother a picture album/greeting card using circle cut out papers and adding pictures I cut into circles. It all folded into a nice circular stack, but when you unfolded it, the "pages" each told a little story along with the photo. Let me see if I can create a mini of what I did and post a picture of it to explain what I'm talking about. [/u]

Oh, I might like this option the best. My Mom likes things she can carry in her purse and show off.

Ok, I just finished making a dozen of these for invitations for Kayson's 1st birthday party (which isn't until October, but I wanted to get a jump-start iykwim?!). They are much smaller than the photo album I was talking about. I still have to add photos and the normal invitaion date/time, etc. I was going to put a picture of when Kayson was first born and then add a recent one of him right before I send them out. I want to say something like "Help us in celebrating Kayson's first year by joining us at his first birthday party. God has blessed us beyond measure with our son and we give Him praise." That's not exactly what I'm going to put, and I have a lot of work on them to do. All that to just show you what I'm talking about.
This is what it looks like all folded up:

    Then opened up:

As you can see, you can use the front and back. I added "frames" and stuff to the one I gave Kayson's adopted great-grandma. It turned out really cute. I was also quite a bit longer.
You just cut out circles (lots of them) from various paper. Glue a little piece of paper in between them and bend it to get it to fold up like an accordian. Does that make sense? Just PM me if you need help.
