I've been dying to share this here, but it was a gift and she finally got it yesterday. So now I can share! (I know some of you saw this over at the VC site)
I spent about a full week on this project, instead of scrapbooking. (When I posted about cutting fabric with the Cricut, this is what it was for, but then I didn't end up using what I cut as it didn't work out so well).
My friend Katie knit a wool soaker for Natalie. So I wanted to make her something to thank her for that. Natalie LOVES her soaker and wears it to bed when she wears a nightgown and she'll wear it for naps over her cloth diaper (if the diaper leaks, the wool keeps it in). This thing is great!
So here's what I made her ...
A clipboard - I tied more ribbons on the top, not sure if you can see the one ribbon there. It's the same ribbon that's going around the paper, but it's dark and hard to see against the black table.
(it is still drying in this picture, you might see some white, it's just the Mod Podge).
An altered tin box. This is the size of an Altoids tin
And then I made a mini accordion "album" to go inside - she'll have to put in her own pictures, but I will send some photo tabs for her to attach.
Here's the front and back of the accordion album. The back doesn't look stupid in person with that random patterned paper in the almost middle.
I don't have the latest picture with all of the ribbons on the clipboard.
actually, Hershey's dark chocolate truffles came in the box. but an Altoids box would work as well, as it's the same size.
I used fabric to cover both, very easy to work with (when I did my sister's box, I used paper to cover, and that was a lot harder)
Gwen, I remember those from the VC and LOVE them!!!!! They are just soooo pretty!!!
