DH is going there for business for a bit in a couple of weeks and is wanting us to come along. Apparently it's only a 9 hour drive, which isn't too bad. So I'm curious what fun, inexpensive things there are to do there, and if anyone lives nearby that might want to meet up. DH will be working most of the time, so it would just be me and the kiddos for a bit. TIA

My DH went there last year for an AC/DC concert with some friends. They went to the Ford museum and really liked it. I don't remember how much it was, but I don't think it was expensive. And then there is always a baseball game, unless it is still the allstar break.
Bell Isle Park
Ford MuseumBelle Isle is a 983-acre island park on the Detroit River. It's a favorite picnic spot and is ideal for fishing and outdoor recreation. The park features a nature center, tennis courts, beach areas, a waterslide, and playgrounds, and it's connected to the city by bridge. Belle Isle boasts spectacular views of the downtown skyline.
The Ford Museum sounds like it'd be fun! So does that Bell Isle!
