Baby shoes (OT--sewing)

#1 I've learned that sewing is NOT my forte.

#2 These took over 2 hours to make.

#3 They are pitifully full of errors.

#4 But I like them anyways and look forward to trying my hand at more....!

I was going to give them to my girlfriend that just had her baby last week, BUT after finishing these, they will definitely not be given away. LOL (Trust me, the bow and looks of the outside are deceiving....the insides look like a kindergarten student sewed them.) They will be my prototype and if we have a girl, I'll stick them on her feet. Wink haha

Oh and I used this pattern:

I personally would be honored to receive them no matter how the inside looked...it's the thought that counts girl. Smile

I think they rock! I really wish I had been able to make a couple of pairs for Alex. Didn't think about it until too late.

My first pair took about 2 hours too. They get easier! I still haven't made the 'perfect' pair though:confused:

we're our own worst critics, really. give them to your friend, she will LOVE them! who cares what the inside looks like, it's the outside that matters. and those are SUPER CUTE!! great job! oh, and it took almost 2 hours for my first pair too, I think.

did you use the soft leather for the soles or fabric? for a baby who isn't standing/walking yet, I am assuming the leather would not be necessary. I am so making some of these...will save on buying the ones at target for the next baby.

I've made a few and didn't use leather. I did use suedecloth as the bottom fabric, and that looks really nice (but isn't at all like true suede in terms of durability). soft leather would be great for a little walker though.
