I bought some wooden letters for Ryleigh's room, covered them with paper using Mod Podge and then embellished them. I really like how they turned out:
I also painted the flowers in the nursery. Everything is done in there. All we need now is a baby!!!
Little background- My grandparents raised me and my g'pa passed away when I was in HS. We called him "Poppy". I really wanted to name a girl that but DH just never really cared for it. Too out of the box for him! So, I needed to compromise but still wanted to somehow use the poppy. Since we did the nursery in red I thought I could paint poppy flowers. That would suffice! I found a pic of a field of poppies and it all came into place!!
Greg and I hung the butterflies:
And I made 2 more burpcloths:
I think that is it!
Those letters are great! I love her room and I'm sure she'll love it too! Thanks for continuing to share with us.
BTW do you do the embrodery with a sewing machine? That is really neat.

ok a few things... #1) the nursery looks awesome! i LOVE the poppies...and what a great, sentimental thing to have in a spot you're going to see so much of everyday! #2) those butterflies are adorable, and PERFECT for your nursery! #3) you can never have enough burp cloths! #4) you are making me want an embroidery machine!
Those letters are so freaking adorable. You did such a great job with them and they are going to look perfect in her room. You are very talented.

It is all so cute, you did such an amazing job....it makes me want to re-decorate our nursery...but DH would have my head
And I am totally lifting your idea to Mod Podge the letters. I bought them for Wyatt's room months ago and haven't quite figured out what to do with them.

Those letters are probably the most gorgeous ones I have ever seen done. LOVE THEM!
And of course the nursery is to die for. What a lucky little girl
That's just GREAT! I love the story behind Poppy and her letters!
