Cameras

Ok, well seeing as how we all have cameras, I was wondering what kind you have. I currently have a cheapie one that was given to me after my Sony Cybershot was stolen. It's just not cutting it anymore. There is about a 2.5 second delay between when I push the button and when it takes the picture. That does not work when you are trying to shoot a toddler. Also, it won't take pictures in focus unless the flash is on so everyone has bright red eyes. I need something good, easy to use, and not extremely expensive. What do you have, why do you like it, why do you not?

Thanks.

yours wouldn't happen to be an OLYMPUS would it? Because mine does the same thing.

i have the canon rebel xti and i absolutely love it.....it's a digital SLR camera not the point and shoot kind like the sony cybershot. There is more of a delay with the flash and taking pictures than with a digital SLR like the rebel xti. That's why we love it. Makes taking pics of our toddler a lot easier.

i think Gwen might have the same camera. If you check out the photography board they have some great tips on finding a camera that fits your style and what u want, price range etc

Yup! It's an Olympus.

I realize that a lot of what is in a photograph is because of the person taking the picture. That's why I didn't post on the photography board. I think they would be a little offended if I made it seem like the camera was the reason all their pics are so good. Also, I need to keep the camera around a few hundred dollars because as much as I want a good camera, there are about a 1000 other things I want more.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to make a list of all mentioned and start doing some comps on Amazon. Maybe I can make it to Best Buy soon. I really think I need a hands on experience so I can judge better. On the other hand, I just really loved my CyberShot.

if you go to dpreview.com you can comparison shop to figure out what fits your needs. they have a part that lets you pick features you want and it lists the cameras that match. That's how I picked mine.

We have the canon rebel xti, too and love it. I also have a canon powershot A530 that I got for my b-day a few years back. I like it b/c it's smaller and I take it more places. It fits in the diaper bag! The other one has its own special camera carrying case that it lives in.

This is what I do, i have the Canon A 95 that I keep in the diaper bag all the time so I have one with me at all times and the new one stays at home or goes out in special protection lol.

We have an Olympus Stylus 770SW. It was given to us free from Randall's plant. I had originally had the Kodak Easy Share, which I adored. I think the pics were better, but the Olympus was more fun. Wink Mainly b/c I can do this:

Yes, this is me being a nerd! Lol
