Challenge #2 Something Old, Something New...

Bringing back this challenge from May 1st. Smile

I thought it would be fun to have a challenge this weekend to get the creative juices flowing.

I call this challenge "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"

Show me a card or a layout showcasing something old (old person, old appliance, old paper, old embellishment), something new (new baby, new appliance, new kit, new technique), something borrowed (borrowed a style you usually don't use, used someone else's cartridge to make a cricut cut, a picture of something borrowed, use anything from the scrapbook train, for digital girls "borrow" a quote from Bethany, etc) and something blue.

As you can see, what's "new" "borrowed" etc is pretty open to interpretation. Just let us know how you made it work for you.

I have a fabulous prize that I'll get pictures up of later. (If a digi girl wins, I'll work out an alternate prize)

You have until Monday midnight to post your creations. You can enter more then once.

ETA: The prize
Sheet of rub-ons

And these wonderful 6x6 cardstock cut outs.

what a great idea!!! I don't know if my weekend will allow me to scrap, but if I find the time, I'm definitely doing this.

I am at mil's today for a cookout but you are making me want to go to the scrapbook store. I went MAJOR scrapbook shopping the other day and can't wait to show you all what I got!!! I wanted to go shopping for clothes but nothing was fitting so I did some retail scrapbooking shopping therapy and felt much better LOL!

Ok, I'm gonna try to get a better pic tomorrow because it's 1 am and there is no sun. Biggrin But, I was excited to finish so here it is

Something old- The date stamp was one of my first scrapbooking purchases and it only goes up to 2009 so I can't use it anymore. Sad
Something new- I just bought these chipboard stickers when I visited Crafts Direct.
Something borrowed- I used the Creative Memories circle cutting system which I borrowed from a friend to make my lollipop invitations.
Something blue- There is some blue in the stickers.

I haven't posted in a Loooonnnggg time since my son's surgery in March mostly because I didn't have any scrapbook mojo going on (seems to be going around from what I have read :p) Anyway, I sat down and did this last night and I think it meets all the requirements.
Something Old: Great-Grandparents
Something New: Jack
Something borrowed: Scraplifted the idea of strips from the strips challenge
Something blue: paper

Old: vellum saying "you go girl"
New: Jordan's new skill
Borrowed: "You did it!" borrowed from Charys (last year) - she cut it for me when she got a new cartridge and I asked her to borrow it, so to speak Wink
Blue: Background paper

you did it

Jordan is riding her bike! I cannot be any more proud. She wasn't ready last year so I didn't force it. But this year we took the training wheels off. The day before, she had attempted to ride with me pushing her, but that only lasted for about 10 minutes. She just wanted to play with friends. So the day she actually learned to ride, she really did it on her own. She went up and down the pipestem by our house, and took right to it. No frustration, no tears, no falls. And now she's a speed demon on wheels. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!
