Well, I'm slowly getting back into the scrapbooking. I'm trying not to think about all of the layouts I still need to do (at least 100 at this point), and I'm just working on what I can.
So today, I did a couple layouts with the larger photos I have, for the "professional photos" scrapbooks. Except now *I'm* the photographer, so I wonder if I should call the books something else.
This was the photo collage I did two years ago. It was an 11x13, which didn't really fit on a 12x12 page. I cut off the top and bottom to make it fit, and then trimmed the sides. So the red you see is actually part of the collage. (The blue is the paper, just didn't want the floor behind it confusing anyone) And I actually used letter stickers to do the "December '08". I really need to use up all of my stickers, will probably give some of them to the kids just to get them out of my sticker stash.
ETA: I just realized the larger silver star was in the wrong place here. I think it slipped when I was carrying the layout to photograph it. The large star belongs in between the smaller two stars. It fell on the floor right when I picked up the layout after photographing it, so I fixed it immediately. Just didn't realize it was not in the right place when I took the photo.
Jack's one year cake smash ... I had the urge to go with a busy background paper, and I think it works. I cut the letters with one of the Core Collection whitewash papers. I sanded the cake and crown (the cake is also embossed). I think it came out pretty nice.
I did the layout for this a while ago, but the photo was in a frame in my room. So I finally got the picture in place. Isn't he adorable? I just love this photo!
And so you can see the two page spread, the page on the left was done a long time ago.
Yesterday, this was my project. It's our new "command center" in the kitchen. I'm tired of the kids' stuff taking over the counter space. So now they have this space for their things. I moved my magazine folder off the counter and down here too (it's the brown one, if you couldn't tell). This is still a work in progress, but it's a very good start.
Clear counter, love it!
And while I'm sharing ... here's what that cabinet looked like before I took on this project (this has been about a week in the making, as I had to clear other cabinets to relocate the Tupperware).
Look at the top, it's a mess, isn't it?
Tupperware is nicely stored in a more convenient location
Anyhow, the kitchen is almost how I want it to be. I've been working on it for a long time, just need to do a couple more things to organize the counters, and it will be done. Decorating and reorganizing all of the rooms has been a priority over the last 6 months or so.
Thanks for looking!

The layoutslLook great! I have just now gotten some mojo back and I am now 18 months behind in scrapbooking.
Loving the organizing. I always feel so refreshed at the first of the year. It really is easier to clean and tidy when there is less stuff to move around and you know everything has it's place. I love your command center. I have been considering setting up something similar in my living room but I'm finding it difficult to find baskets to fit the cubbies in my desk.
Great LOs girl! Good for you for finding time to get them done, I know it feels good to do that. And I am with you on not thinking about what I need to do and just scrapping. That's what it's supposed to be all about right? LOL Keep that focus girl, and just enjoy doing it.
Love your command center too...very cool!

Love the layouts! Great job! Can you tell me more about your command center? What do you keep in it and what does it "command"????

I need to figure out how to use the command center for MY stuff. I keep my planner on the island, as I refer to it constantly. but I have a pile of stuff under it that are related to my calendar. it's a mess. I don't want to hide it in the command center, so I'm torn on how to handle it.
Very nice layouts! Good job jumping back in and being productive! Hopefully I will be able to say the same soon! LOL
Love your kitchen organization. Don't you just HATE tupperware, btw? It takes up so much space and no matter how hard I try to keep it organized it is always threatening to take over my kitchen! Your new command center looks great. I hope it helps keep everything in its place!
Great LOs! I need some of your mojo! And awesome job organizing and creating a Command Center. I think storage containers in general a giant pain when it comes to trying to organize them! They always take over!
I used to be a Tupperware consultant. I love Tupperware! But storing it is a b*tch. I have a TON of it, a lot more than you see here. The "specialty" stuff (the stuff that's used really rarely) is at the top of cabinets and the top shelf of my pantry.
Here's two older pictures of my pantry (it's not so neat right now, but I'm still using all of the same containers)
You have been one busy lady! Your pages are great and your photography is amazing!!! How I long to be that organized. I absolutley love getting organized but have a terrible times staying that way. Althought today I did work in my kids closet a little, it was great, because I pulled out 2 buckets of toys they have outgrown and.or are McDonalds prizes, and they had a blast for over an hour. I managed to go through some clothes to give to my sister who is expecting in March. Also got some clothes put away, and reorganized there toys I trade out often.
