    Default couple more questions...

I know, I should stop questioning (and downloading) and start scrappin!
    But anyway...

    1. How do you organize your albums? By event? One per year? etc?
For those with more than one child, do you make separate albums for each of them? Do you make one and duplicate for the other(s)? I plan to make them each a baby album, but beyond that, do you have ongoing books for each child or just family albums after that? what do you all do for pictures/events that involve more than one child / whole family?
Hope I'm making sense... running on little sleep here...

    2. Do you journal in first person, second person, etc... maybe I'll make this one a poll... yep, see poll... hmmm... see poll in separate thread... LOL

    3. And a digi question... which filetypes can be used with Photoshop? I seem to have downloaded some things I can't open. (.psp? .png? others?) What program do you use?
my ticker was taking up too much space, so: Robby-Apr06, Johnathan & Matthew-Mar08... you do the math. LOL

1 - My albums are, sadly, not organized LOL. I *try* to have themed albums - ie all the weddings I've been to are in 1 album, my university days are in one album, etc ... but it doesn't work because I run out of inserts to put pages into.

2 - I'll go look for the poll, but I normally journal either in the 3rd person or, since baby, TO her.

3 - Photoshop has a million extensions ... and there's a problem if it can't read PNG (Portable Network Graphic) files - that's what 90% of the freebies for digiscraping are, is png files ... Not sure about psp, but you should be able to open psd, jpg, png for sure, as well as brush files (abr? I'm new at brushes) ...

    HTH!

    1. I did a First Year album for my son, but now I am just going with general family album with things organized by date

    2. 3rd person

    3. I use Photoshop Elements and you should be able to open almost any picture file out there including png and psp (that is the photoshop file type)

We just have one child right now, so I have it separted out for him. But if we had another child and I would do the same thing. Atleast for the first year for sure!

In his first year scrapbook a lot of the pages I wrote the journaling to him. Like little notes for him to read from his mommy (and even daddy on some).

Now I have a scrapbook titled "Family" that I put all the pics/events involving family and friends. And I've started another scrapbook for Kayson with photos of just him. And I did our wedding album seperately too.

Each of my kids has a first year book. Then I do a family album for the year. I pick the events/pictures that have meaning for me (so I have a mixture of every day events and then actual holidays or trips). I use post bound albums so the pages are removable - my kids can pick the pages they want to keep when I'm dead. These books are for me, and for the future. I want to sit down with my grandchildren and go through them with them. Right now, my kids enjoy looking at the books, but they're not allowed to touch them without me (I'm so anal!)

Can I answer here? In the first year book, I journal to the child. For the family books, I journal in third person.

I use The Gimp and Picture It. There's a file type I can't open too, but I can't remember what it is.

Well, I have seperate albums for major vacations (ie: Italy). We only have one child so albums so far are easy. I just do them by date. I'd say one per year, but I seem to be aiming for 2-3 per year, I'm sure that will slow down as she gets older. Most of the pages are of Andrea but there are family and friend pages in there as well.

I do journaling both ways. It depends on the page. Sometimes I speak in first person, sometimes in 3rd. It really depends on what I'm trying to get across. I probably do a lot more 3rd person though.

There is a Mac file type that I can't open, but everything else should be fine (jpeg, psp, png...).

I make a yearly scrapbook. I don't show DH until New Year's Eve, so it's kind of a gift to him as well. When I get preggo this time, I will make a pregnancy scrapbook. Other than that, it all goes in the yearly scrapbook.

    Posted on the poll

I use Microsoft Picture It! It's not the greatest, but perfect for the little amount of digi scrapping I do.

I have been so sporadic with my scrapping that this probably won't ever even happen, but I do plan to make scrapbooks for every year for each child and then do all the same pages for a family album. I am pretty sure that's wishful thinking though. lol

    I answered your poll

I have no idea, I don't do digiscrapping

    1. If it's a big event like first year, or wedding...i'll do an entire album. but for everything else it's just thrown in one family album.

    2. It depends on what album it's going in. Eli's first year album I wrote it all to him because I plan on giving it to him when he gets married. but for the family album, i write it like i'm telling someone a story.

Since I only started scrapbooking about 1.5 years ago....I have 3 kinds of books. 1. Tyler, 2. Pets & 3. Anything (ie. family, vacation, events, friends). I will have a book for just my wedding though, whenever I might actually get to that?!?!
