Cricut- To Buy or not UPDATE- picture added last post

I am incredibly tempted to buy a Cricut Create this weekend. Joann Fabrics will have them on sale for $84.99 August 1-15. Cartridges will be $33.

Hubby has given me the okay. I keep going back and forth. I've used it a few times at crops and enjoyed it, but still I fear it will somehow take away from the creative process, etc. I know it's weird of me.

So....help enable me...or discourage me. Smile

buy it! I don't think it has taken away from my creative process at all. In fact, because I bought SCAL2 for mine, I have even more reason to be creative. I love my Cricut!

I say go for it! I'm using mine as we speak for another wedding gift. I would not have had the patience to make this with all the letters that I'm cutting. I'm too cheap to buy ready made alphas and usually they're not the right size or look I'm wanting and it takes so much time to cut out my own so that alone makes it worth my while. My next thing I want is SCAL as well to play some more!

Wow! That's an awesome deal! I also say go with it! If for some reason later on you decide you shouldnt have bought it, you can always sell it and get back what you paid at that price!

I think with your kids too you can help them with school projects and they will love it!

Well, okay. I guess I am getting a cricut. Great-Grandma is visiting us during the day today and my aunt and I were talking about the pros and cons of a cricut, and next thing I know, Grandma hands me a check and tells me I can't pass up a deal that good.

I'm spoiled. I realize it. I'm still astounded at Grandma's generosity. She's so supportive of individual interest in different crafts.

You are going to LOVE it! I went back and forth on getting one too. I just wasn't sure if I would use it enough to justify it.
Then my parents surprised me with the Expression and now I wonder what I ever did without it:-)

So Joanns was a bust. I had 2 brand new machines, with the sticker to seal it, and once open, both had obviously been used. Plus it was just the bug, not the create. So I invested in a Create at Michael's. I can't wait to use it tonight.

I now have Jasmine, Wall Decor and Don Juan.
As a gift, I have Stand and Salute, Heritage and Christmas Solutions being shipped to me. Yeah, I'm not getting presents for quite awhile after this.

I can't wait to try it out. Will probably have to wait until after the kids are in bed tonight.

My first cricut project. (Well, the first cricut project on MY cricut, doing something I never did before.)

Used the card function to cut the ship. Layered on sails. Pop dotted. Cut waves. Colored ship. (These cuts from Wall Decor). Cut the brackets (Don Juan I believe). Stamp is one I own. Stickled blue paper to make it a starry night behind the ship.

And you questioned losing your creativity... pfffft! Awesome card! Is that blue sparkly sky paper that you bought or created? If you created, how did you do it?

I'm about halfway through with my parent's anniversary card. I just haven't been able to sit in one place for more then 20 minutes at a time tonight.
