I think that about sums it up. For more detail look below.
Okay so I love love love my cricut. Can't wait to get home to play with it, but I'm really not loving the fact that paper isn't sticky like glue is. Wo how do you glue your stuff? I was using a scrap piece as kind of a mat for glue but then since the glue was clear, I was placing new pieces on top of a spot I'd already glued another letter with and the top of the new letter was getting glue on it as well.
If that makes any sort of sense, I'm shocked but I'm too tired to think of any other way to put it.
If I'm using fat letters, then I just use a glue pen on the back of the letter. It is skinny like a regular ball point pen.
For skinny or small letters, I use the baby xyron machine and make them into stickers. One of the best purchases I've ever made for scrapping I think!
I know exactly what you are talking about because I have the same problem. I am going to have to check out that baby Xyron though!
It's my least favorite thing about it too. I have started using a piece of wax paper, and then wiping it off after each glue. A wipe works wonders for the glue on your hands and the wax paper. That's what I've been doing lately.
the thing about that xyron is that it wastes a lot of glue. You drop one in and a bunch ( like an inch worth) comes out before the sticker and then another inch comes out after. So you may want to make a bunch of letters in different colors to make all at once so that you don't waste so much. It wastes a lot less that way than just doing a few at a time.
Wax paper sounds like a good idea, I am going to try that next time! Thanks Sadie!
