Cricut mat ?

I actually played with my bug last night and how cool it is!! YAY!! I will have so much fun with it. I am sooo wanting new cartridges now. Austin wanted to make a reindeer, and I was like "um, we have to buy the Christmas Cheer cartridge". LOL Anyway, I was wondering about the mat longevity. I know some of you have posted you've made your mats last a long time and I'm wondering how you maintain it. TIA

I had this question too. I noticed all of my cuts were in the same spot. So I've started loading the "wrong" end first of setting the paper size so it cuts in different spots.

Make sure you always keep it covered with the acetate cover when you're not using it - that keeps the dust off. Periodically I clean it off with a baby wipe, let it dry, and cover again. I use the same mat for MONTHS. I've had my Cricut for 2 years now (hard to believe!) and I'm only on my 3rd mat.

I *just posted something on Cricut mats! LOL

I've had the same mats for a long time too and do what Gwen does. Also, I've really worn a couple out, so have been using little pieces of tape along the edges of the paper and that works great. I can't wait to try it with the 2 way Glue that I ordered off Ebay.

Do you mean like the Zig pens? I read on the cricut site you could use them to resticky your mats. I have one but not sure if that's what I'm supposed to use.

Someone had also posted about the baby wipes on there. Mine was getting less and less sticky and I rolled a lint roller over it and it worked pretty well. You would not believe all the tiny paper flakes it had on it.
