    Default Cricut Tips

For you paper scrappers, is there any tips you'd like to share with us about the Cricut?

When I first got mine I was frusterated because I could never make those tiny, delicate cuts without tearing the paper. After learning to put the setting on a higher speed, it works wonderfully! I even cut 13 tiny "thank yous" with the Alphalicious cart last night set at 1 1/4", without a single catch or tear. I put the speed on 5, the blade on 5 and pressure on 4. This works well with the delicate Jasmine letters too.

If you have any tips, please share!

Forget about glue sticks. They're a nightmare. My favorite thing is my glue pen. I can use it on very fine lettering.
Also on the subject of tearing, certain things, like the "stretch your imagination" you just need to make it a little bit bigger. I kept having issues with the Bride's head being torn off. Now that's not a message most people want to send, unless your the grooms ex. I increased it by one inch and it came out perfectly.

Thanks for the tips ladies. I will have to try to put it on a higher speed. Jasmine is so hard to cut little letters/words. TFS! I don't have anything to add...

LOL Karen, if I lived anywhere near your part of Canada I would invite you over to use mine. But being in California, it's not really close to any part of Canada.

I don't really have any tips seeing as how I just learned yesterday that I can up the speed.

Thanks everyone! I noticed too, w/ the size, it will tear. I will have to try turning up the speed. Opposites Attract will tear too.

That is really good to know, I have major problems with tearing and it was making me so frustrated. I agree with the glue pen, works great for the smaller fonts.
