Cruise scrapbook - C&C please

I'm looking for comments and critiques on my layouts. Now, keep in mind I did all of this in one afternoon about two years ago. I'm just starting to get back into it, and since I kinda hit a block, I'd like some ideas on where to go next. I think my biggest problem now is that I started out doing it chronologically, and trying to journal our trip, but now I can't remember what all happened!

Ok, there's lots of pics, so I'll break it down some.... These are some of my favs...

And then, I lost my steam...

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Your album is nice so far, there are a couple that look like they could use a little more "embelishment" but your album seems to flow nicely so far. I don't envy you starting on an old project. I have some like that and know how tough it is to remember what you want to say and what you were doing etc.

I have a rule....NEVER go back and redo a LO (well I did once but it was digital LOL). I love seeing how my scrapbooks progress as the years went on. They started very simple and worked their way up. Given there are always duds in there a few times. You win some you lose some, but generally speaking, things just naturally improve. I'd go shopping for some embellishments if you are continuing with paper. Stickers, eyelets, brads (I prefer since I don't need a tool to use them), snaps, ribbons and well...more paper. You can never have too much paper dangit! Then see where it takes you...OR...as I do, hit sales every now and then, but go to the scrapbook store with specific layouts in mind and put them together in your mind as you purchase your goodies. Eventually you build up a good stash that way too. Smile

I have to comment on how nice your book is! I wouldn't change anything about it. Just try and put together the remaining pics to the best of your memory and it will turn out great. I wish I was that organized on trips! I'm happy just to get my son's book done. Wink

I think it looks great the way you did it
I (this is just me) probably would have put in some more embellishments--buttons of course Smile

Thanks for the comments, they are most definitely appreciated! I have been going out and picking up some other stickers, embellishments and paper in hopes that it'll get me excited enough about the project to carry on.

It's been harder than I thought to try and continue this book, the rest is probably just going to get put together as I come up with ideas for pages. I've got two more in the works right now, and we'll see from there. I think I just need my confidence back.

your confidence will come back as you start to work on it. did you save any emails or letters you wrote after you came back? those are good for reference for memories. if you can't remember details, just go with the pictures and embellishments, as that will capture it for you.

and I love the stripes down the center of some of the pages, that's neat paper!

Thanks, most of the paper and stickers I used came from a kit. The scrapbook came with a bunch of paper, stickers and punch-out embellishments like photo frames. I bought two even, cause the first one didn't have enough paper (and they were on sale). Which worked out perfectly, cause we ended up going on another cruise and now I have a book for that one, too. Although I think I will tackle that one completely different.

I think they are great. I like embellisments too, but sometimes the pics speak loud enough IYKWIM! Great job! I agree, your confidence will come back after you start making more and more! Biggrin
