thanks for answering my other thread/poll...
I looked and it is .psp and .rar that I can't open. What programs use these?
.rar is like a zip file - you can 'unzip it' by getting 'unzip them all' - it's a freeware program, google it and you should find it.
psp - I thought that was a photoshop file ... it's possible that it's just from a newer version of the program than you have? What version do you have?
.rar is a different type of zipped file. I use Zipeg to unzip them. It's free to download just go to www.zipeg.com
p.s Rita, there's a really nice kit called Backyard Boyz at the www.scraporchard.com gallery that's free to download. It's only available for a short while though (it's a special through their contest).
thanks girls... I will have to dl one of those unzipping programs. I looked up the website where I got the .psp ones and she says she uses paint shop pro.
Beth - got Backyard Boy... you all have me completely addicted to downloading scrap freebies!! Now if I could just decide where to start and actually scrap something! LOL!
I downloaded for about 3 months before I even scrapped a thing! LOL
I did finally start taking time to organize everything I had downloaded so it wasn't so overwhelming trying to find pieces and parts. And what really got me motivated was to start a folder of pics I wanted to scrap.
I'm still really slow to make the time to actually scrap, compared to how much time I spend downloading!
.psp is paint shop pro.
I like using picasa from google to organize all of my digital stuff. it makes it really easy to find stuff!
psp is photoshop.
98% of the files you download have to be unzipped so make sure you are unzipping them. There is unzipping software in my Windows program. I didn't have to download anything, so be sure you don't already have it as well. The .psp files may be zipped as well, so don't give up on them, I would think photoshop can handle .psp files.
what does this mean?.....
"My files were created with scrap taggers in mind."
"All my creations are mainly created for taggers so my designs are on a much smaller scale than the average industry sized scraps."
Are these files going to work for something I want to print out??
The photoshop ones I have say .psd and show up as a photoshop icon whether or not I have unzipped it yet. The ones I can't open have an icon that usually shows up when I don't have the right program on my computer.
I looked again and some of them say .pspimage
Here is a link to one of the ones I am talking about...http://sentimentalstyle.blogspot.com/2008/03/ocean-mist.html
and by the way, you should check out all her stuff... it's great!!! IF they will work for printing pages, that is. I think it's one I found through digifree.....
forgot to answer also, I have photoshop 7.0
from what I have read you have to download a plugin to open psp files in photoshop. .psp is for paint shop pro specifically.
There is unzipping software in my Windows program. I didn't have to download anything, so be sure you don't already have it as well.
My version of windows also comes with a way to unzip, but I got tired of having to do it one at a time - I found Unzip them all, freeware that will unzip a billion files at once, if you want it to. It's been a big time saver!
Off to go find such a useful program! Gads I hate unzipping everything cause it takes so darn long.
.psp is 100% paint shop pro- my favorite program! Im sure you can find ways to make it open in other programs, but if you ladies ever need something opened and saved in a different format dont hesitate to PM me.
