    Default Digital Scrapbooking

    Hello!
I am wondering who digi scraps and if there are any free sites out there? Also do you do 8x8 or 12x12? I would want to print mine but how do you go about doing that? do you have to send to a specific printer?

I have done 3 regular scrapbooks and one digital (the best I could) and looking to get more into the digital.

Hi, and welcome to the board!

There is a ton of info on digital scrapbooking here: Welcome to the Scrapbooking Board! about halfway down the first post. There is a free program you can use to do it (GIMP - Beth is our resident expert in it, if you have questions she's the go-to girl), and a lot of us use versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements to scrapbook. Photoshop Elements is about $80. After that, you can download all sorts of freebies (check out the links in the thread above) and the only other cost would be to print. I get my pages printed either at Costco (for $2.99/page - they do it on photo paper), or at scrapbookpictures.com in 8x8 size for $1.99ish (they sometimes have sales).

That's the basics in a nutshell, if you have any specific questions just ask - we will try and help! There are a bunch of digi girls here (myself included lol).

Hi! I don't have any advice because even though I do play around with digital I don't know enough to advice anyone lol. I did want to welcome you to the board though!

I'm a paper scrapper, so no advice here. I just wanted to pop by and say "hullo!" and "welcome!"

I'm huge on digi scrapping. I love it and won't go back to paper. I print by pages in books (they have custom covers and bind it into a book) - looks amazing. I print 100 pages in a book and it usually costs me just over $100, but I think that is much more affordable that 100 paper pages would be and less than printing 100 individual pages at $2.99. I do the individual pages for family though and print the 12x12's at costco. Occasionally I want 8x8's and just shrink the 12x12s to fit (print at costco too). For the books, I prefer shutterfly - their quality has been the best. I've also tried artscow and inkubook, both were okay, but I'm sold on shutterfly's padded covers and printing.

    Welcome!

This is a great idea and I am going to do that I think. I don't digi scrap often because I never print them. I don't like to scrap something and then not have it in their books, so I don't do it unless I know I will get it printed. I don't like to pay 3.00 for each page individually. I am going to do your method though. I'll just save up the pages I do that way and print them in a book when i get a good number done.

You're right, Shutterfly rocks. I tried them for the first time when Oprah gave a coupon link for a free book worth $50, so I was able to make extra books (for my family from our family Florida vacation our parents took us on a couple years ago) for xmas for really cheap that way. I absolutely loved how they turned out! But I didn't do it with scrapping, so I need to look into that more. Thanks for reminding me! $2.99 per 12x12 doesn't sound so expensive, just don't have a Costco near us, boo!

I'm huge on both digi and paper scrapping. I love with the digi no clean up and I love the texture of paper scrapping. There are tons of free sites for downloads for kits, etc. My favorites remain at this and this. Welcome!
