I've been dragging my feet on doing this layout. I had so many pictures, just hard to do a layout for a whole week of pictures. I used less than a third of the pictures I had printed out. Even then, it was hard to place them on the page.
Don't tell my mom this, but this was probably the worst family vacation we've had. I mean, it's nice to see family, but I would have been fine with just 2-3 days. And Arkansas? No offense to anyone who lives there, but we were in the middle of nowhere, and our houses were so spread out. I feel like the family I spent the most time with was my immediate family, not the extended family we were there to see.
That being said, my husband was really funny with the layout. He said "The photos are just on the page, they're just square. But it was like the whole week, square and boring". He summed it up, I matted two photos - the only group shot I have (and we're missing half of the people) and the picture of my sister leading the band of my children in music (my favorite memory of that week).
I don't know what else to do for this page. I mean, there's no room to really mat any other photos. And I already pared down the photos, and the ones I used are the ones I really want to keep on the page.
I should also add here that I did a WHOLE BOOK of this week for my mom as a birthday gift. So I guess I feel like I already did justice to the week by doing that. However, I needed to capture it for my family album, so my kids can see that we went. I just don't have many pictures of the rest of the family cause, like I said, we didn't see all that much of them.
If you read all of that, thank you. And if you have any suggestions on improving this page, I'd love to read them, even if I don't act on them in the end.
You did good, because the photos made it look like you had a lot of fun! The lake and all the swimming, etc. You fit so many pics on 2 pages, without feeling cluttered, so I'd say it's good. To me, that's better than flipping through a photo album looking at the same pics. I really like it.

I think it is fine - it is nice and clean and you managed to fit a lot of pictures in without it seeming cluttered. Sometimes simple is best. I like the 'band' picture
I was just thinking the same thing looking at it. For such a dud reunion the pictures sure make it look fun.
I think you did great with what you need to accomplish. Putting in lots of pictures. They are easy on the eyes and not at all cluttered.
I have a bunch of pictures from our family reunion in September that I have been putting off scrapping too because I just don't know what to do with them.
I like it! A lot.
The only thing I would suggest is to mat one of the pictures on the left with the blue paper to balance it out a little bit. Maybe the one of you in the bottom, or Rich in the middle, or Andrew right above you.
Other than that, I think it's WONDERFUL. I love how you got so many pics on the page.

I think it looks great, and not cluttered! I live in AR, and have never heard of that place!

Sadie - it's near Eureka Springs, about 30 minutes from there, and right on Table Lake. (I think that was the lake)
thanks for reassuring me, girls. I really thought it needed something else. I did pick a travel themed somewhat busy paper so that the background would show where the pictures weren't, eliminating the need for travel embellishments.
