Finally Scrapping (all 10 pages added now)

Well it's do or die time to finish our family's pages for my grandma's birthday scrapbook. This is what I have done so far. Still have 5 more pages to do, but my mom and dad are done (their memory pages) and the family intro page and the intro of my parents page is done. It's an 8.5 by 11 inch scrapbook (which wasn't my family's idea but it's working out okay).

I'll scan my dad's page when it's dry... and I'm sorting pics for my pages now.

Be brutally honest. What do you think? I tried to honor any layout ideas my parents had. My mom's memory page is bright and flashy, because that's who she is.

I really like the "Memories of Mom/Grandma" Page. How you listed little things she did or represented her. I might have to steal that idea!! Great job!

My favorite is the first one! These are paper right? Great color choices on all three! I love the quote on the middle one and how you grouped all the photos on there.

Yup. They're paper. My mom picked the pictures for the middle one... I tried to keep it mostly as she had the pictures arranged, though I did cut them all down so a background paper would come through.

I have a headache from leaning over so much. Another one is drying and I have 3 left to do tonight. I think all my kids are going to have the same basic template of 3 3x4 pictures, 2 1.5 square pictures and 2 journal sections.

Here's my dad's memories page and the intro to my family. My dad's really serious, sedate, and a gardener by hobby... that's why he got flowers for a background.

I had to look about 5 times to determine if they were paper. Great job! And I love the idea of capturing what you remember about Grandma on a page. So sweet!!

My mom's scanner is incredible. I've got 1.5 pages left. Just waiting for some pictures to print. I'm glad we're scanning them. I really am liking how they're turning out. The stain glass paper has been incredible to work with. My glue has been sucky, but we've been pressing the pages with encyclopedias.

I've gotten the pictures for the last two printed and cut out. Most of t he layout is done, as in the pictures are in their right places on the paper. Tomorrow I have to cut frames, glue and finish off the memory sheet for my page. I feel bad because there are tons of pictures from when I was a kid, but I just ran out of time, making mom and dads and all my kid's sheets first. But it was well needed and my page will reflect the time with grandma since meeting my husband, and I'll at least add in journelling about my favorite things from childhood.

We'll scan them before we leave but I don't know if I'll get them posted in time before we leave or not. We're leaving by 11am and we have to pack our bag and load the van too.

It's going to be a fun family reunion. I just hope grandma likes the book.

BTW, thanks everyone for the encouragement while I was doing them. I'm truly not a scrapbooker by trade.... at least not a paper one. I'm getting a program to try digital scrapping for Christmas.

I think I'm going to be happy to go back to my cards after this. Smile

Grrr....some of the pages don't want to lay flat thanks to the glue- it's not the brand I usually use.

Here's my son's page, my page and a bonus hubby's page. 10 pages in 14 hours. Crud, and I just realized that I switched two of my journelling pages.

All the pages turned out great!

I love how your paper is so fun but your details are very clean and simple. It makes it have such a nice put together look!

TFS

She seemed to really like it. Every child and grandchild and great-grandchild is included in this book. Some people just made a single page with collages of pictures. Some scrapbooked and journalled. Some just had my aunt make pages for them. In general, each family (grouped around grandma's 5 children) tended to have the same theme. Then by putting a divider page between them, you got essentially a book with chapters and then sub-groups, which took what could be chaos and turned it into a really beautiful book. As my mom is the youngest, our pagest are the last ones. My brother's 2 pages are the very last in the book and different from my mom's and mine, but people have commented that our pages together really end the book on a bang.
