Default the good and bad of retail. lol

While at Michael's looking for an 8x8 album for a gift I'm doing I found one for 9 bucks on clearance (down from 30)...when I took it up to pay the woman said no it's 19...I explained there were a stack of them all on a shelf that says $9 and the only other option was a nearby sign that says $5 so I'm thinking she'll want to go with the $9 I was trying to joke but she just goes "it's wrong then." argh...I walked around for half an hour finding nothing else for less than 30 ...and had already tried walmart and dollar stores...finally I just brought it back up and said "I am going to pay $9 for this like it states, thank you. The sign and stack of a bunch more are there if you would like to go look." LOL... She gave me a snotty look and did it but how annoying....on a good note I was on the lookout for a paper cutter...saw one for $23 at a drugstore....then saw almost the exact same one in Dollar Giant for a buck!!! And it works perefectly too!

Well I don't knwo what Canadian laws are but here in California we have a rule that if it's marked as a certain price and there are three or more, you have to give it at that price. Someone tried doing that to me one christmas and I got so much stuff so cheap because it was all on the wrong rack. Oh well, too bad for them.

Yep, she should have just honored the $9 just as it stated. What I have learned working in retail, is that it's not the associates money, so what does it matter if the customer pays $19 or $9, right!

exactly. I've worked in plenty of retail stores and our bosses would always tell us to just give it to them. What would we care if the company lost out on ten bucks. lol

Ah well I got it! And yes Charys a paper cutter for a buck! WOOT!!

Wow on the paper cutter. I so need a new one. I have a $6 dollar general one right now and it's about as sharp as a kid's safety knife right now.
