Yay, Mr. Mojo returned! I decided to just do a layout tonight and get out of my slump. I like how this turned out, even though it is simple. I painted the chipboard frame silver, but you can't tell from the scan. That's the first time I've used paint and I love it! Oh and the pinkish coloring in the right-hand corner is not really there. THe scan isn't the best.

    TFL!

ETA: And a pic of a very simple sympathy card I made. I just used rubons for the vine and butterfly.

Charys - that is a beautiful layout!!!!! I love how you painted the frame. I haven't done anything with paint. I bought the grungeboard Ash posted about but haven't touched it at all. I don't have any paint and am not sure what I will do with it now that I have it. And that is a beautiful card - where did you get those rub-ons? They're lovely.

    Thank you All!
Gwen, I bought those rub-ons right after I had Kayson, so almost 1.5 years ago at Hobby Lobby, because they were on sale for really cheap. I've never known what to use them for until I needed a simple card. And our Walmart had all their craft paint bottles on sale for only 10 cents, because they were closing down and opening up a SuperCenter, so I got a few different colors. After having fun with it last night I'm totally kicking myself for not buying more.

I just have to say how totally jealous I am, the my walmart is switching to a supercenter, but they are staying open through the whole process. You can't find anything any more, and they are constantly moving stuff around, it's never in the same spot for more then a few days in a row.

Otherwise it's a great lo, the frame really brings it all together. And I love how simple the card is. It's very cute.

10 cents for the paint?! WILD!!! Your layout inspired me to buy a bottle of paint and a little paintbrush yesterday (total investment $1 ). I just need to figure out which of the grungeboard to paint and what to use it for.

Awww Charys! That is perfect. What a great page. I love the photos you chose and the quote and the layout.... ! The painting turned out great, I'm sure it is better IRL, but I like the silver and how you didn't match the frame exactly to the photo.
