headphones bobbin and a layout

I hate hate hate taking my headphones out to use them and finding them all knotted up. Seriously, that has to be my biggest pet peeve, so I made this today. I cut a piece of chipboard and put the paper on it. I took a picture of my case I keep my iPod in and then printed the pattern onto water color paper ( because I liked that texture) and cut it with my cricut using SCAL.. So easy and I love it. I took a picture of it beside the case so you can see the size of it.

Also a layout that I did last week and don't think I have posted yet.

How did you do the title and the fireworks? I'm loving them! Are they stamps and you traced around?? What a great layout!
As for the bobbin...you are waaaay too clever! Just love that idea! Especially that you took a pic of the bag. Gives me some great ideas....

Thank you!

The title and the fireworks were both done in SCAL2. I used a font and cut a shadow behind it. I was actually irritated becuase I forgot to adjust the size of the shadow and it automatically made it that size. I had wanted it way smaller, but I do like the look now.

I grabbed the fireworks off of some website that had svgs for SCAL. It looks a lot like the fireworks on the stand and salute cart.. which I am sure was the intent when they made it. I can't remember what site it came from though. I try to keep things organized for credit, but it gets complicated lol. Just like with digital scrapbook files.

Wow Angie!!! You are so talented. Love the bobbin seriously, and that LO is just so cool! I am your #1 fan seriously...I LOVE your style!! I too want SCAL!! DH was just mentioning the other day that "he bought me the cricut that I could hook up to my computer". I said, "yeah, with the right software"!! LOL I didn't realize you could get images, I thought it was all fonts. Hmmmmm.... GREAT job! TFS

Carrie, you can do much more than just fonts. You can create your own images to cut ( dh creates most of mine, like the Rocket I did on the Little Einsteins page) or you can find freebies online. You can also buy images.

Here are some of my favorite places to get images if you want to look around.

This one is fun because it offers a lot of free ones but also sale packages.

That bobbin is ingenious! What an awesome idea!

I said something to Dh the other night how you could buy a program that would cut just about anything from the computer on your Cricut. I think he actually perked up a little and thought that was cool.
Although my Cricut is no where near the computer and I don't want it to be. So that might make things a little difficult.

haha, yea, that might make it a little difficult. It connects with a usb, like the ones printers use. But, even if you got a really long one to use you would have to go to the computer to set up the cut and then go back to the cricut to get the mat in order, etc.

That bobbin is so awesome! I need to make myself something like that. What a great idea to make it the same pattern as your bag, I am going to have to remember that! The LO is awesome, I love how simple it is but yet is so cool too! I love SCAL but I haven't made any of my own SVGs, I should look into tutorials on how to make my own so I could get more from it.

Wow! Now I'm intrigued about SCAL... never heard of it until you mentioned you have it. Great idea on the ipod holder and how it coordinates with the case. The title and fireworks just pop on that LO. Good job!

Um, I had no idea you could plug the cricut into the pc! Geez, now I really need to pull that thing out of the box, haha!
