    Default Help!

OK..I'm taking the plunge into Digi-scrapping. I think.
I downloaded GIMP and was utterly confused!! So I uninstalled that and downloaded Picasa. It seems alot easier to navigate. However, how do I start cropping, editing, and all that fun stuff? How do I get some of the freebies that are listed in the Digi sticky uploaded and working with Picasa?
Can anyone walk me through a sample? Sorry to be a PITA!!

Picasa is simple a photo editor. You can't actually scrap pages with it to my knowledge.

To edit your pics just upload them into the program (it should do this automatically) Then double click on the photo you want to work with and when it open there should be loads of editing choices on the left hand side.

    Hope that helps!

I haven't ever tried Picasa since it never worked on my computer for some reason. But I did start with GIMP and found it simple to use once I started navigating around in there and learning things. You do have to have a program that allows layers and preferably effects like drop shadow and what not. As for freebies, google "digital scrapbooking freebies" and you'd be surprised what's out there. But how do you bring the freebies and the photo program together? To make a page?

you would open the file (freebie) into your program... open your program... then there should be an option to 'open file'... find your freebie and it will open up into your program... then to put a picture there, do the same.. 'open file'!

    hope that makes sense

Not sure about Gimp, but Picasa is just a simple photo editor and storage.
