Hey look! I actually made something!

I just had photoshop elements downloaded a week ago (I have no prior experience with this program at all!!)... anyways...I really want to make my own birth announcements this time around.... so I was just playing around... and this is what I came up with! (it's obviously missing some information like our names on it, but this is my first play at trying to create something!!) What do you think? (oh, and the picture is of Cadence when she was about a week old.... i actually used that photo for her birth announcement - which i paid someone to make by the way!)

Love it! And I really love that font (it's the same font I used on K's birth announcement lol). That's your first digital creation? ? ? If so, it's awesome!

This is actually the first time I made anything on any digital program. I am a very visual person so I was searching the internet looking for better directions on how to do digital scrapbooking and ended up on you tube and found some helpful videos. I know what scrapbooking page i want to do it and how I want it to look, but trying to figure it out on photoshop was getting me frustrated - so then i decided i would give this a shot!! So i experimented with layers (i think i actually understand what their purpose is now! Lol ) and came up with this!! I'm going to play around with some more announcements tonight I think... maybe a boy one.. try various things.... anyways, sorry i'm rambling... i can definetly get used to this digital stuff for sure! Smile

Oh, thanks for the compliment.... i too love that Scriptina font - it's so elegant!! I need to download more fonts as well......

Very cute! Are you naming her Natalie? Wait...you don't know the sex, do you?

I wish I had a program to be able to do this. I found some announcements I like on Etsy. I'm going to go that route (pay $10-$15 to have it designed and then print wherever you want)

Do I know the sex??? Technically..... no... Wink I was never told what it was because I didn't want to know.... i had an ultrasound a few weeks back because i had spotting and the tech asked me again if i wanted to know and I told her "no, but if i see something, i see something" You know what she does? She gives me some pictures of the u/s and one of them is a clear as day money shot! Now, a regular joe shmo wouldn't know, but us girls on here have seen quite a few of them... so i'm about 95% sure we're having another little girl... but we haven't told anyone.... my hubby compared the picture from our daughters... let's just say they look pretty similar. Now I will be completely shocked if it's a boy, but I would be completely happy either way. So to answer your question... after that appointment, we had a serious discussion about girls names. Smile Now i'm playing with my hubby's head telling him that I don't know for sure.. blah blah blah... in hopes of some element of surprise.

Anyways.. as for the name... i really love the name Natalie.... and my hubby likes it too... we haven't officially decided yet, but it's at the top of our list. (so at least I get to believe it is in photoshop land!) Smile

After last night i was wondering if people created these things on Etsy.... after i get some more experience, i'd like to jump on the bandwagon! They are fun to make!! (Hmm... maybe i could practice on your little one.. ) Wink

Very elegant! I am far to afraid of digital land. Did you have to purchase PhotoShop or do they have something you can try out?

That's a wonderful first 'page'! And yes, Digital Scrapbooking is all about the layers (and shadows I should add). If you're looking for another tutorial on how to do scrapbooking with PSE, try this:
