I cut fondant with my cricut!

It's been months since I said I wanted to try it... so I bit the bullet and spent the $30 for the deep housing unit. I finally got around to trying it tonight... definetly a trial and error kind of thing! The fondant had to be rolled paper thin... let it sit for about 45 minutes... i didn't put enough fondant on the mat to do very much.... you'll see that I cut out some of the top of the ice cream cone and part of the spider's legs... ok.. here how it came out!

Gwen's comment cracked me up! LOL

So you did that with your regular machine? Why would anyone buy the Cricut cake then? How cool is that?! I think doing the little hearts and flowers would save a lot of time! Think of your possibilities now.

Yep, I did it with my regular ole baby bug! (although I wish had the expression)... I found directions on this awesome cake website... i had to roll the rubber rolls to the left.. but other than that.. it was just trial and error for getting the fondant thin enough. A lot of people have bought that Cricut Cake on that website... some like it, some can't figure it out! I spent way too much money on my baby bug (I overpaid like crazy - because i bought it off an infomercial over 2 years ago!).. so i just can't get rid of it. Smile

I look forward to cutting other things and using them on my cakes. Tonight was just about playing and exploring. Smile

Yay! I can't wait to see how your cakes turn out! Part of me wishes I hadn't sold my baby bug because then I could have turned it into a "Cake".

How cool!!! I've been wanting to try and do it! I kept my personal when I got the expression so I could try it but I barely have time to keep up with laundry, let alone fun stuff!
