I got bumped.

I got bumped (my surgery)

Not impressed, as I was IN the operating room when they bumped me, after spending 4 hours waiting at the hospital.

Gotta love the Canadian Health Care system. Sigh.

I had a new date by the time I got home though - Jan. 20th. So I'll be asking for prayers/PT then again. They said they can't bump someone twice, so it should be a 'go' that day for sure, I hope so, because the emotional ups and downs of today were a little much to handle.

WHAT??? How does that happen? Explain to me who knows nothing about your health care system. They bump you for more "important" surgeries or somethign? UGH!! I can only imagine Trina.

There had been an emergency c-section that bumped my dr earlier in the day, and just as I got down to the OR a kid with a battery stuck in his nose came in, and as they were about to get me in there was another emergency c-section. The hospital has a rule they can only do surgery until 3:45, and mine wouldn't have started til 3:15 (scheduled at 1:35), but it was to last an hour - so, they cancelled it. I wasn't impressed - but now I'm thinking everything happens for a reason, and maybe if I had had surgery that day something bad would have happened, so it's ok. But I hope they get me done on the 20th, the pain is bad and I just want it dealt with.

that's crazy! I mean, you're right, it probably happened for a reason, but I can't believe you were already in the OR when they did it. What if they needed to do a c-section WHILE you were in the middle of your surgery? It's just crazy.

Yeah that does seem pretty crazy. Do they not have enough doctors to handle multiple emergencies? What if there were a big disaster??? ODD!!

Thats insane! I know they only schedule so many elective procedures at a time at MOST hospitals (when I say elective I basically mean scheduled and known about beforehand). I get that so they can accomodate for batteries up a nose and such but I can't believe they would have you in the OR and then send you home. That is terribly inconvenient on your part. I'm glad you are ok with the new date Trina. At least you know they can't bump you again.

That is awful! I too can't believe they can do that after you are already in the operating room! That is terrible! I hope your pain decreases and you don't have any troubles on the 20th!
