Forgot to share that I finally got my Big Shot shortly before Christmas... even though it was supposed to be for my b-day in early Nov
I also forgot that I took pics of a couple of the Christmas projects I made with it before giving them away. Ran across them right now, so I thought I'd share...
This first one is a card/ornament/gift-card-holder made with Scallop and Snowflake Bigz dies and a little snowflake sizzlet layered on top. Round Tab punch with an eyelet for the top. Guess I didn't take a pic after I finished it off with a rhinestone brad in the center of the snowflakes.
I cut another scallop and trimmed it to make the diagonal pocket. There is a stamped greeting you can't see behind the gift card...
I love this fun little box. I made the whole thing with one sheet of 8.5x11 cardstock. Half sheet for the actual box, and 1/4 sheet each for the top and bottom. I ran the 2 quarter sheets through the big shot with the Top Note die. "Peace" is trimmed from the Join in the Cheer decorative strip die which says "Peace&Love&Joy&Cheer"
Once again, I forgot to take a pic after finishing it off... so imagine a white organdy ribbon tied around the right side of the box.
and here it is open.... fits a gift card just perfectly and I threw some candy on top....
I did one in blue after that I liked even better, but i guess I didn't take a pic of that either!
I will probably make some more of these Top Note boxes for V-day.
ETA: Thanks for all your wonderful comments!
Here are some instructions for the box:
I forgot I had a couple extra pieces cut & scored in case I needed to make more boxes, so I took some pics. Then I decided to type letters onto the pics so I could make the directions more clear.
Once again, sorry for the watermarks... I'll be copying these to my blog.
These instructions are to create a pizza-style box that ends up being 2.5 x 3.5 x 1" tall. If you need a different size, let me know and I can figure the dimensions for you.
The red lines in the pic below (on the background scratch paper) are not for cutting. Just the red lines on the little scrap of paper shown above. I was just trying to show the dimensions in the pic below.
This one is the sketch I was working on before I remembered I had the extra pieces cut & scored that I could take pics of. I think it helps some.
The box would be cute just stamped, or you can add to it.
You should do any stamping on the actual box before assembly. But you could decorate a 2x3 piece of cardstock and attach to the top, or....
I attached a Top Note die cut to the top and bottom of the box.... I added the word "Peace" trimmed from the Join in the Cheer decorative strip die.
See top of thread for finished box.

Wow, the giftcard ornament is wonderful! That is such a great idea! I might have to scraplift that one! Oh and Claim Jumpers is one of the best restaurants ever!!! There is one near me (& Erin....LOL).
I found the instructions that I had scribbled down... but to be sure it's clear, I think it will be easier to make a sketch with score and cut lines and take a pic. I'll do it in the morning.
Aja- Yes... gotta love Claim Jumper! Funny, my brother and I were on the same wavelength and we got each other CJ gift cards
Gwen- Unfortunately, I didn't get to see most of them receive them. I made 3 ornament cards and about 5-6 boxes. I gave one of the boxes to the boys' ped nurse at their last appt and she really liked it. And I saw my FIL open their gift card, but his wife was out of state and she would be the one who would appreciate the crafting part of it. The others were mailed or passed on to their recipients.
Great work! I too love that little box..what an ingenious idea!! TFS
