So the sale is over and done with, whew! (I think I made about $400, won't know for a few weeks). And I should be jumping back into the scrapbooking, as I do miss it. I just ordered a bunch of pictures with the Winkflash sale.
But I don't want to.
I want to sew.
I have a borrowed sewing machine, and projects lined up to do, all cloth diaper related. I don't even sew! But I did embellish some prefolds last week and that has got me hooked! They're not perfect by any means, but I am happy with them, and it's even neater that *I* did it! So I just want to get cracking on the projects lined up.
I don't know what do to ... I'm in the card swap, so I do have to do that. But I think I need the proper motivation to be scrapping. Help! How do I get motivated?! I don't think I can until this sewing is done, or at least started, because it's all I think about.
Does this happen to you with other creative outlets? What takes a backseat for you? Scrapbooking used to NEVER take a back seat for me (by choice), this is so foreign to me.
Oh, and it's not like I have a deadline to return the sewing machine. My friend hadn't used it in 2 years, she said to keep it as long as I need it. That's not to say something won't come up for her and she suddenly needs it, but that's unlikely.
You embellished some pre-folds? Can I see them??
I haven't scrapped in almost a month. I just have no motivation. I think it's ok to take breaks every now and then though. I bet your mojo will come back when little Jack arrives. You'll be making his birth announcement & have tons of new pictures.
Wow...$400!!! That's awesome!!
Ash - yeah, the motivation is where I'm lacking too. But I got a great idea for Linda's challenge, and might actually do that today (I don't know that I will sew today, despite the desire). Here's a link to where I shared the prefolds and the tutorial I used - http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboa...d.php?t=266667
Great job Gwen! I love them! We have started buying dipes for when we do decide to conceive our next one. I can't wait to CD again! Call me crazy!
I don't have any advice. I know sometimes other things take over, and you will want to jump back into scrapping soon! I do miss you though!

I lost my scrapping mojo the ENTIRE time I was pregnant, it was horrible!!! I finally got it back when my DD was 2 weeks old, and at that time I did a scraplift to get back into it because I didn't have any ideas - and that really helped! So if you want to get into it again, try to scraplift someone and see if that inspires you. I don't know why I didn't want to scrap either when I was pregnant... but the feeling did go away!
Oh, I definately run into that dilemma, but it goes both ways. I made Andrea's curtains and bed sheets and a couple bibs and blankets. I don't sew anything outrageous, but I enjoy the accomplishment (similar to scrapping). The problem is trying to do more than one thing and right now I'm just focused on scrapping so my machine and materials are just sitting in a closet. I was just thinking this morning that I should really pull it out and get some more sheets made and a pillow cover to match some I already made, but that would mean no scrapping for a while and I decided I couldn't do that right at the moment.
Gwen, i TOTALY know what you mean about getting so involved in another craft! Right now. I too am putting a back seat to scrapbooking and trying to build up my CDing supplies! Thanks to Coffeegirljones on the CDing board, she is sending me a bunch of stuff. I am in the process of trying to find a sewing machine to see if i can make my own!
LOVE your pre-folds!
You did great on the pre-folds! I go through some major slumps too. I have been in one for a while. I wanted to start on my cards today, but couldn't even get the mojo for them. That's awesome that you made $400 on the sale though!!! wow!! That makes it worth it huh? And you'll have the fall sale too right? I wish we had something like that around here. Garage sales are tough to make money at, because everyone wants a steal. I ended up giving away practically brand new outfits of K for like .25 cents.

thanks for the prefold compliements. I compromised today, and organized my sewing print outs (for the free patterns and tips for sewing) and then worked on the technique challenge page. But then I encountered frustration as my program crashed before I saved my most recent changes. I'm still recovering (as I had to leave to get Andrew from the bus). Had to do it digital since I didn't have printed pictures and had the inspiration at that moment.
oh, and Charys, I'm not letting anyone nickel and dime me at the yard sale, I'm pricing low, but writing on my signs that my prices are FIRM. I hate yard sale haggling! what doesn't sell there I'll tag for the fall sale. but I really need to put a dent in what I have before the fall because I'm overwhelmed at the thought of it.
I've tried craigslist but there's so much out there that I didn't get much in ways of sales. I sold one of four lots of clothes that I attempted to sell. I tend to sell 10% of what I list there, and it's just so time consuming. I also listed 9 auctions on ebay, and only sold 2. so it worked out to about $5/hour for my time. that's nuts!!!
