I need help from a DIGI girl, PLEASE

Our social called this week and said she wanted to stop by for a home visit to update our home study. UGH! One handed cleaning is not fun and she's coming in the a.m.

We also talked and I decided that we needed to update our profile some and change out the pics. I really couldn't handle scrapping that many pages with my hand and I need them 8.5 x 11 and most the ones I have are 12x12, so I bit the bullet and did some digital scrapping.

I used Fireworks as the program and I actually enjoyed it! They are saved as a .png file right now in Fireworks and when I called Kinko's about printing them, he said they need to be changed to PDF format. How do I do that? Or, should I be taking them somewhere else? I have to get it done TODAY, so I can't do anything online.

PLEASE, somebody help me! Smile

Do you have a Walmart nearby? If you have a flash drive or SD Card that you can save them to, you should be able to bring those to Walmart and print them out yourself without having to reformat the pictures. If anything, when saving, in the window you can do a "Save As" under the Save As Type: and look for .pdf or PDF to resave them.

Thanks for responding. It doesn't give me the option to save as pdf or to export it. I called Kinko's and he said if I save as a jpeg that may work. He said sometimes it doesn't print as well. I guess I'll try that see what I get.

How did they turn out? Kinko's sounds finicky. Another option is to just use your regular printer and use photo paper to print, unless you don't have a printer. You should be able to have the option as to what size you want it printed within your program. That's what I usually do anyway.

I wasn't online today, so I'm not seeing this until now.

it is challenging since you had to have the 8.5x11 size, most photo places can't do that size.

when I need to save ANYTHING as a pdf, I just print to pdf using PDF Creator. It's free software that installs as a printer that will allow you to save as a pdf. it's pretty cool, actually. http://www.pdfforge.org/

Thanks everyone! I figured that out Gwen.... eventually. I knew how to go to print but it didn't have a PDF option so I thought I was doing it wrong. Then I realized that I have a PDF creator @ work and not here.

I ended up calling Staples and they said JPEG was fine, so thats what I went with. I'll try to upload the pages later this evening and you all can see me pathetic attempt at digi scrapping!

Thanks again!
