I think we're buying a house (OT)

We've been looking on and off for what seems like forever now. We saw these models we liked a few months back, I guess about a year ago now, but they were out of our price range. But now that the housing market has crashed, the prices have dropped around $80,000 and it's much more within our range. The one we really liked is down to $140,000, so hopefully pretty soon, I'll be posting pics of our new home. Keep your fingers crossed and keep the prayers coming.

Aja, Stockton. It's not the ideal commute, I'll give you that. It will probably tack on at least two hours a day, until I can find another job but I can't afford anything in this area. Someone said a house like that would go for around $400,000 where they lived. Here too, but an hour away makes all the difference.

Well we called and they received an offer on the last one this morning so probably not that model but possibly the bigger one with four rooms, we'll see. The nice thing about that one is, it is the model so it comes with all the appliances included. That would not be entirely a bad thing and having four bedrooms would be nice. Then I could have a space of almost all my own. I might have to share it one weekend a month but I might not too.

But we're still looking at all homes, even used ones. I'm not too picky. As long as it is at least three bedrooms and two working baths, I won't complain. At this point, I'm even willing to look at condominiums if the price is right.

Ya, it's horrible - and I'm in the suburbs! I'm about 40 min. away from the city, and houses with more than 1 bedroom are still over 300,000 here ... in the city they're 500-600,000 for a starter home - we'd never be able to afford that, it would be a mortgage we'd pass on to Kaitlyn!
