My local scrapbook store has these big crops every year. I can NEVER afford them. They are generally $50 for a one day event or $125 for a weekend (46 hours) event.
Well they were previewing the classes they were going to have at the event at the store. I REALLY wanted to go to the event and check it out and see if there was anything I could maybe learn about after the fact. BUT this weekend is so busy. First I had a party for my parents 30th anniversary where I made a full Thanksgiving-esque meal. Then today I've been making food since 10am for my husband's 10th anniversary of ordination meal tomorrow. (Only one person who said they were coming to help actually showed up to help me.)
Anyways, back to the event. My scrapping friend had to go through the town where the store is so I asked her to pick me up a grab bag. For $5 you were guaranteed at least $10 worth of items, including paper, ribbons and other notions. In mine was a free crop space for the scrapbooking weekend!
I won a $75 (meals not included) scrap space for 46 hours of scrapping time. Now this is perfect for me because with my food allergies I can't eat most of the things offered for meals anyways. The crop is the first weekend in November so I can make all my Christmas cards then! My husband was equally excited for me and so was the friend who picked out the bag for me.
