I'm finally getting a craft space!!!!!!

I'm so excited! Ever since we moved into the new house I've been dying to have my own "space." but between my brother living with us, the new baby and all of DH's stuff I've been stuck with keeping everything in a corner and only pulling out what is totally necessary. DH finally gave into my idea to re-do the front room into our actual living room, we had furniture in it but NEVER actually used it, and there is room for Wyatt's toys and stuff up there. That leave the "den" wide open! We are making most of it an office, but I get one whole wall all to myself! I'm so excited. I can't wait to start getting stuff for it....i'm already scoping the neighborhood garage sales.

Just had to share...you girls are really the only ones who understand why I'm so excited. DH just thinks im a goof Wink

that is so awesome! Smile I'd LOVE a space all for myself. Right now I am using the dining table and there is always a small pile of stuff while we eat  You will have to post pictures when you are finished setting it up or heck sooner than that if you want Blum 3 My dream is to have a whole room all to myself. An office to edit photos and scrapbook. Glad you get a whole space to yourself Biggrin

How do you do that? You are one brave Momma! The thought of having someone eating near my scrap stuff scares the heck out of me. LOL ...I have a scrap room but like to scrap in front of the tv...so I bring what I'm using out to the coffee table...as soon as DH steps into the livingroom I'm guarding it from him (whether or not he even has food! lol!)

Lol ! well i keep everything in a box. When I am done or taking a break or something I just pile everything in the box Blum 3 then if I need to finish it later I take it out and begin working again. It's all piled on the side of the table so we still got plenty of room to eat but it is getting very annoying and we are talking more about what we can do about it. Our house is getting so small for us Sad I'd need a full time job first before we could even think about buying a bigger house because I am wanting a home office/studio and I need quite a big room for that. Anyway sorry ! Smile

Of course there will be pictures!!! I'm going to have to do a page about it once it's done LOL....and 2nd piece of awesomness (LOL) was that dh also finally agreed that Wyatt needs his own "space" too. so we are converting the dining area that we NEVER use to a play area, with rubber flooring and everything. I'm starting to worry that DH did something wrong ROFL

That is so awesome! I can't wait to see your space! I love that I finally have somewhere to scrap so I don't have to haul all my stuff to the kitchen table and clear it away when I am done. I find that I actually doing so much more scrapping since I got a permanent space.

Haha, that's awesome that DH is being so supportive of everything. I can't wait to see what you come up with. I love garage sailing with a purpose.

Congrats on getting a craft space. I probably wouldn't craft as much as I do if I didn't have my space. My space is shared, but I still have a good sized corner to work and store my stuff.
Some days I want my own room so I can make it all girly and mine, but I share a basement with DH and it is nice to have company while I am crafting.
Another goos thing is, I don't have to put my stuff away, I can leave it sitting out sicne we don't let the kids play down there.

YAY! I am jealous. I have a whole upstairs that's not being used. I could do it, just don't have the energy!

Yay! I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my room. It is a disaster and it is just my stuff, I can't imagine if I had to share it;)

yay for your own space girl!!! so happy for you! There's just something about having a place that you can spread out and work and get back to when you want and not worry about cleaning up each time.

That sounds awesome Kat! Congrats! It is nice to have someplace to call "your own", even if it isn't very big.

I can totally feel your excitment! You should look on craigs list and type in store fixtures. With so many stores going out of buisness everyone and their mom is posting fixtures for sale Smile Can't wait to see it! Remember kitchen items work great in scrap rooms. Straw holders, bowls ect!

awesome! Tia is right about using kitchen type things in craft areas. I like to recycle/reuse things. I have ribbon in old mason jars, I have flowers in what looks like a glass candy jar with a lid. I saved the cardboard cylindrical containers that quick oats come in (haven't found a use for those yet). A cute leather basket/box with a handle that was a gift set from bath and body works became my button storage. It seems like everytime I buy something or empty out a food container of some sort, I wonder "hmm what could I use this for" haha. Happy hunting for craft space stuff!
