Intro and a question...

Hi everyone I'm new to this board. :wavehello: I've been on preg.org since last October and have just started scrapping now that I have a baby girl to take lots of pics of. I've always been a very arty/crafty person so I'm in my element with scrapping!

I've collected quite a few supplies so far but there's always room for more, right? What I'm wondering about is... is it safe to use non-acid free stuff as long as it's not touching photos, or will it damage them somehow anyway? My sweet DF bought me a set of gel ink pens that don't have "acid free" written on the pack, but I'd really like to use them in some way.

Welcome!! Glad you jumped in! Join us for the VC this weekend, if you can! Biggrin

I would say the gel pens would be fine to use. I've used gel pens many times on my layouts. Unless one of the other girls knows something I don't.

I think I heard it was ok to use items that weren't acid-free as long as they don't touch the pics, I'm sure the pens will be fine!!! Welcome!

Welcome!!!

I've heard it's fine too as long as it's not on your photos.

Another thing -- they sell an Archival Mist Spray that you can spray on your things so it won't ruin them over time.

Ahh thanks that's good to know. I'm a dressmaker and a hoarder so I have all sorts of little bits and pieces I can use if I can make them photo safe.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Smile
