Kanga and Roo Acrylic Baby Cards :) +some more

My friend let me borrow her Animal Kingdom cartridge this week, so I made some cards to test it out.

This is what it looks like with it open a little.

closed. (the blue paper square with "happy birthday" is in the inside of the card)

I trimmed the long tail and feet off the birds.

Thinking of you

Again, this is opened a little.

closed (you can see the paper I put inside the card to write on)

I'm not really fond of this one, but oh well. I used my white Sharpie to create the dots and I guess I just hurried and did it too fast and you can really see how uneven they are.

Baby girl card

The kangaroos are cut at 4" and 2 1/2". I edged in black and brown chalk to highlight them. I used pop dots behind the baby kangaroo to make it appear 3D and show up better.

baby boy card

Happy birthday

I used one of my new Friendly Forest Acrylic stamps for the tree and cut it out.

TFL!
Kayson keeps saying "kangarooooooo, kangaroooooo" since I made these this morning. Smile I had to cut a couple extra kangaroos for him to paly with.

Chary's your work never fails to amaze me and these are no exception. I would never have noticed that the dots were uneven. Fantastic .... As Always.

I just love your cards Charys! They all look great- as usual.

Question- is that fabric border on the kangaroo cards or paper? Where do you find that? I've seen several different pieces on your cards and meant to ask you already. I love the pattern on that piece.

Originally Sadie found some for me at her local SSS. But that is stuff I ordered from the ABC catalog.

It's adhesive backed paper "ribbon". Very cool stuff to work with because you don't need glue or anything and it rocks for acrylic cards.

Thanks for the comments Erin and Kelly!

thanks, I've seen something similar on oriental trading and wondered if it would work good. I'll add that to my shopping list- DH will be so happy!

your cards seriously rock. I wish I had the inspiration in your pinky finger, cause it's more than what's in the rest of me. love the kanga card! and your dots don't look uneven to me at all. and I love how you stamped happy birthday on the paper inside the card instead of the outside. I totally need to try that.

Why oh why oh why can't we live down the street from each other so that you can hold my hand and make a transparency card with me and prove in person how easy it is? Stunning work as always!

 soooo, where is a hand holding smilie when we need one? I mean we have this dude: :policelight: but no hand holders?!? haha Michelle, they are sooo easy. Infact I was trying to make these NOT acrylic, but it's hard to fill in all the white space on a regular card so I cheat and use acrylic! Shhh, you weren't supposed to know that. Wink

Adorable!!!! I love the kangaroos. That is so cute Kayson had to have some, too. I never thought about having less space to fill. I'm totally going to try transparency cards. Lol

Those are great! And even though you pointed it out, I still can't see where your dots are uneven! LOL
