Well, I knew the day would come when I could no longer protect Tyson from getting sick He was feeling fine on Monday so I sent him to school and then got a call in the afternoon that he just had a seizure! My poor baby was in his classroom and the teacher was saying Tyson get up cause he was laying on the floor. She thought he was not listening to her but saw he was having a seizure when she checked on him! Thank god when they called me I just happened to be driving past the school so I was inside before I hung up the phone. There are alot more details but this is a very public board so I did not want to post about something so personal. He was out of school all week and had another one on Tuesday. He is better now and taking more meds but I am afraid to send him back to school. I know I have to but what if it was nap time and the teacher did not know? How do you trust someone with your childs life??? Just kinda hard right now To make matters worse it was a sub. She still knew about his epilepsy but I did not talk to her face to face with every detail like I did with Tyson's teacher. I am praying that he is good now and won't have any more. On a good note I made a lo last week. I was having some family drama so I did a lo on it lol. I will go take a pic now missed you all
I am sorry to hear that he had a seizure at school. And I know that all you want to do is protect him but he has to get out there eventually. He is one tough little guy, you know that. You did great with informing the school of what was going on and what needed to be done if he had a seizure, that is all you can do. Be strong mama. You will get through this.

Tia, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope from now on they're few and far between. How terrible for you to worry like that, but like Missy said you know Tyson is a strong boy.
that sounds so scary! Tyson sounds like quite the trooper.
are you on any support boards for epilepsy? you're not the first parent to deal with it, I wonder if you can find some moms who can give you guidance and support for having a child with epilepsy in school. I think it would be helpful to get some BTDT thoughts, ya know? because I want to give you words of wisdom but I don't have any in this case.
can't wait to see the new LO!

I'm so sorry Tia. I can imagine the roller coaster of emotions that puts you through. Like the others said though, he's a very tough kid and will bounce back probably long before you do. You're such a good mom and love him so much, I know that will always help him.

Thanks girls, I did think about the support group thing but dh is very touchy when it comes to me talking about Tyson and his epilepsy. He might not mind though if he knew others were in the same situation. When I looked for one I kept finding adults who had it but I would love to see how other moms deal with the school thing. I might check into it again. Thanks again.
