Mother's day book.. very [very!] pic heavy

We are low on funds at the moment so I was trying to come up with something to make for my mom and MIL for Mothers day instead of spending money. I finally decided on paper bag albums since I have plenty of those around here. DH and I spent ALL day and I really mean ALL working on these lol. We made three, one for my mom, one for MIL and one for me of course :p.

All of the digi stuff is either Shabby Princess, Carrie Stephens or dh's

I also ended up making my mom a card afterall.

Here is the card first...

This is the album

Thanks for looking!

sure it was really simple.

1. You need three lunch bags. I wish I had had a different color for these.

2. Cut the flat bottom part off of each bag, the part that sits flat when the bag is open)

3. place all three bags on top of each other and fold in half like a book.

4. Round the edge of one side ( not the 'spine side' of the book, but the other side. I just used scissors and tried to make it as neat as possible lol. Just be sure to cut them when they are stacked so they are all even.

5. Each of the bags will look like this.
You will want to sew around both sides of each bag because it's open on the ends. We sewed each side and then stacked the books one more time and sewed a straight stitch down the center of the stack to hold it all together.

That's it. I inked the paper too. I hope that made sense, if not just ask me what I meant Blum 3 It really was really simple.

Your paper bag album is just precious!

I wanted to add too that you can leave the bottom seams unsewn too and it makes a pocket for journal tags.

Angie, that is amazing! I really love it! did you print all of the photos yourself? and I am so jealous of your DH's involvement in something like that. I'm lucky if DH signs the cards I make for him to give his mom. ay yi yi

Cute. really like the paper bag album. If you ever need another idea, try a coffee filter book.
