Motivation...

I was a pretty dedicated scrapbooker until DS was born. I have started an album for him, but I haven't made it too far. I'm getting overwhelmed. I really would like to have it finished (at least birth-1 yr.) before Feb. when baby #2 is due. I know it will just get harder after that, plus I'll have another one to do! Any advice? How do you all find time and keep yourself motivated?

maybe the motivation for you can be the february 'deadline'... Smile try to do a page every couple days and i'm sure you'll reach your goal!! Smile

Motivation is not my problem....chasing my 10 month old is!! Biggrin After you get it all out and do another page (say this weekend) the "bug" will get you again and I bet that's all the motivation you'll need. A lot of times when I'm in a rut, I'll visit scrapping websites and get excited again.

My motivation comes and goes... but most of it comes from the ladies here!

I agree, seeing other people's pages is a big motivator for me. Another idea is to just look through your photos until one just grabs you and make a page out of it, instead of going in chronological order or something.

You know, this is exactly why I am going back & redoing my son's toddler album. I was just so busy that the pages are very simple, and well just kind of old fashion looking and boring. Don't worry, just take the time to do what you can and you can always go back and do more later when your child gets a little older. Yes, there actually comes a time when they DON'T want you to play with them - unfortunately this comes way too fast & then you sure miss the baby/toddler days! Pretty soon your son will just want to play with his friends LOL So just enjoy & try to do what you can - remember, you can ALWAYS go back and do pages later.

It's very hard to stay motivated sometimes. I've taken months off because of having no "mojo". Sometimes it helps to go out and buy something scrappy. Or maybe even a book or magazine. Other times it helps to cruise scrapping galleries. Maybe even sign up for a swap or enter a contest or a challenge or something.

Thanks for all of your suggestions, ladies! I'm so glad I posted...I'm already feeling ready to get moving! I think my mini-goal will be to finish one layout next week (I'll be packing tomorrow and then I'll be away for the weekend). Then hopefully once I get started I won't want to stop! Smile
