My exciting news-OT

I think at least some of you know that my dh is an over the road trucker. So for the last 19 months, I've been a single mom for the most part and we'd see Kevin every 2 to 3 weeks for a couple days. It was hard, but it paid the bills.

Well he was offered and accepted a manager in training position with McDonalds! It's a little lower then we were hoping but he'll be HOME everynight! The paycheck will be consistent too, right now depending on how many miles he drives is what his pay check is (anywhere from 300-800, and that makes it hard to budget).

Hopefully I'll get some more me time to scrapbook.

That's great! My brother is a trucker and rarely see's his wife. But I handle all his paychecks and it is definitely not a consistent pay.

That is really wonderful for you family!

My dad was an over-the-road trucker while I was growing up and it was so hard on our family. When he was home all he did was sleep or yell at us, never spent any time with us ever.

I have to say, Kevin definately has these periods, which is why I'm glad he'll be home. He definately realizes how much he's missed this past 19 mo. and he's looking forward to watching Karl grow up.

I can't imagine if my Dh didn't come home every night. I have a hard time when he has to go to a conference or something overnight:rolleyes:

I hate when my dh works late, I could not even think about how hard it would be to have him gone all the time. What a great change for you!!!!

19 months!!! How on Earth have you survived? I've only had to do it for a weeks so far and the idea of doing it for 5 more brings me to tears. Big hugs to you and your family. I am glad things are starting to turn in your favor.

that's great news! I know how hard it is to be a single mom to a traveling DH (although my DH isn't gone nearly as much as yours, that's rough!). I'm so glad he'll be staying home now.

I only have 1, and that's why we will not be having another until we are settled in. It's been tough, but having both of our parents near by and having Orakarn (our exchange student from Thailand) helped a lot. My house was what really suffered. It's getting better though. I'm in a purge mode so I'm getting the house decluttered. We just tried to stay busy, that seemed to make it feel less lonely. Hope your next few weeks go fast!
