My first LO

So I got my Scrapbook Factory in the mail weeks ago, but have been too busy to even play around with it. But I was BAD and instead of working today, I did my first digital LO!

It's totally not what I pictured in my head. I was going to go with bold colors, but couldn't find the right background. And instead found this purple! I would like to journal something on it, but couldn't find the right piece to do it on or the right place for it. Anyway, I've got two versions saved. They have different embellishments in the corner. DH and I disagree on which one we like better, so what's your opinions? Anything I can do to improve them? Or any ideas on how to add my journaling (it would only be a line or two)?

TIA!
ETA: Here's what my journaling would say: 1 week old. Those are Daddy's hands holding you. When you're all grown up, put your thumb where Daddy's is to see just how small you were.

That's your first LO? Wow, great job! Personally I like the butterfly better on the first one. Just my opinion.

that looks great! I like butterfly one best. and I think I'd put the journaling to the left of the butterfly, but not too close to it. you'll have to play with the font size to get just right, but I love what you wrote.

I like the one with the butterfly. I would journal under the picture, maybe on a tag? Just a thought. I hope that helps.

I like the butterfly too! That will be so sweet when you put the journaling on there! Biggrin

NICE job! I think the journaling would go best underneath the picture, between the stitching and the butterfly. I like the LO with the butterfly best. Did you have fun doing the LO? Often I have one idea in my head for how I want a LO to be, and then it ends up being totally different.

Hmmm, I really thought I'd told you how cute these were already. They are just adorable. I think I would choose the 2nd one, but either is great.

I prefer the butterfly one too ... but if you want to incorporate the doodle, you could stick it peeking out from underneath the photo? I would put the journalling under the photo as well, as previously suggested.

Where'd you get the wordart? I love it!

The wordart came from here:

She takes requests, too! But I originally found her through digifree.blogspot.com

I definitely had fun doing it! Part of it was just playing around with the program for the first time. And part of the fun was seeing how much I had already accumulated in my files for papers and such! LOL (I'm dowloading more files as I type!)

It's going to be a little too addictive, I think! Wink

I can't believe this is your first lo!!! You really did an outstanding job! I happen to like the 2nd one better too. And I agree that the journalling should go to the left of the flourish or butterfly, but not TOO close.

GREAT JOB! I can't wait to see what you make next! Smile

Best,
GiGi
