Need Cricut help

So I've been using my new machine to make cards and it has stopped cutting right. It was going find then randomly quit cutting through the paper. I've messed with depth, pressure, removed the blade and put it back in, but it still just scrapes the paper (both cardstock and thin) and doesn't cut through. I'm frustrated and I don't know what to do.

hmm..can't think of what that would be. is the blade housing still set at the same number? or is there paper or fuzz on the actual blade? those are the only things I could think of, and you might have checked those already. worst case scenario...give support a call and they are pretty good about walking you through stuff.

Is your blade tightly screwed in all the way? Make sure it's not wiggling at all while you're cutting.

There may be a tiny piece of paper stuck to the blade?

Yeah, I'd guess something stuck on it too. Did you cut construction type paper by chance? that can really get stuck on there. GL

Thanks ladies, I did find a piece of paper in there although it still didn't cut right after I removed it. I'll check again though.

I would try changing the blade depth, and also making sure the the arrow pointing to the blade depth number is facing towards you. Also you can try to google it, and you might get some other ideas. I hope you get it fixed. You can also call provo craft, and get help. Sometimes I have heard it is kind of hard to get through. I have called once and had no trouble. Good Luck!

everyone already said what I'd say. it's too early for you to need a new blade (as that's another reason it would be doing that). I have to keep the blade set at 4 (not the pressure, but the number on the blade housing) to prevent that from happening.

Are you trying to cut thicker cardstock? I know that Stampin' Up's cardstock is a lot thicker than others and if I don't make sure to lower the blade depth and pressure then it doesn't cut all the way through.

I've tried all different blade depths etc with no luck. I think I will try and call the company today. How frustrating!

Probably a dumb question, but have you tried just changing the speed? Some papers just require different speeds and pressures. So sorry to hear it's still not resolved. How frustrating.

Okay, so I put a new blade in and it worked. I'm cautiously optomistic that something just happened to that blade.

Huh, strange. Maybe it was just a bad blade before. I haven't had to change my blade at all yet. I guess I don't use it a lot, but a fair amount when I do use it.
