Need every bit of mojo you can muster

Well, I am currently blocked. I am working on a present for my best friend in the world. Tomorrow we are exchanging our Christmas gifts because Tuesday she is moving to the other side of the country. I am heartbroken over this. I want my gift to mean a lot, I want it to be perfect. However, every time I sit down to work on it I cry. No picture is enough. No quote is enough. No memory is enough. Nothing is enough. How do you express the whole of your heart breaking? It's going to be a very long night.

:bigarmhug: Whatever it is you decided to do, I hope you included journalling to tell her how much you love her and are going to miss her!

ahhhh, I'm so sorry she's moving. :bigarmhug: Write out those exact thoughts to her in whatever you do.....what you told us..."nothing is enough". I can't even begin to think of something that would be perfect for a friend like that, but maybe a loooong letter in an envelope taped to the back of a picture frame of the two of you? Then she can keep it tucked back there with your pic. Share your thoughts and feelings, and that will probably mean more than anything.

Well, I did it. I don't have a pic but I can describe. I sat down and wrote out some of our best memories together. I then typed out a phrase to describe each memory like White Daisies was to describe her favorite flower and what she carried in my wedding. I had about 20 of these. I put them in different fonts with bullets and then alternated colors using an orange, sage, and lt. blue. At the bottom I put a quote- The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. ~Elisabeth Foley
I printed on cardstock and put in frame embellished with corresponding papers, fabric flowers and some embossing. I chose the colors to go with her bedroom scheme.
She cried when I gave it to her. It was just important for me to let her know that I will miss her but I am also very proud of her. I know I will see her again, but it is the end of an era.
Thanks for all your kind words. Scrapbooking can sometimes be cathartic.
