Default Need help with a crown (OT) - pictures added post 10

I want to make a crown for Jack's first birthday. I have fallen in love with this photograph, and want to take one of Jack like this. Is that silly? But I love the crown too and want to make one. I've googled and googled (and have been ignoring my kids while doing so, and even burned my eggs this morning because I left them cooking while I googled again). Is there a special name for this kind of crown, with the top like that? Anyhow, I'm finding all different crown instructions, but not ones for a crown like this. Any ideas?

I was gonna suggest the same thing May be easier to just wing it, or take a pic of it to the fabric store, maybe someone there has seen it before.

I would cut the white out of foam and it looks like you could adhere the letters and maybe use brads for the little stars. I would hot glue or use fabritac glue to glue the material down on the inside. It won't matter what it looks like b/c that would be the inside anyway. Then glue some rickrack down around the edge.

I went shopping (in the rain, with the younger two kids) and bought most of the stuff. Forgot about the stars but I might have something in my stash for that.

Can't wait to make this, hopefully tomorrow.

How cute! My first thought was to use foam, too, only because I took a quick glance at the photo and that's what I thought the white part was at first. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!

Well, I spent all day on this (and burned my fingers more than once with the hot glue )

I used my little camera to take these, so Jack isn't as in focused as I'd like. I'm happy enough with the crown, hopefully I'll get the good photographs with it when it's time for my photoshoot.

    What do you think?
