Need help with ideas for Wyatt's new room!

So we finally are buying our first house and I get to decorate Wyatt's room however I want! I decided to do a Cars theme because he is in love with lightning McQueen Wink I'm a bit undecided about how to paint the walls. I originally was going to do dark blue on the bottom and light blue on the top with a white chair rail to break them up but now I am second guessing myself. How hard would it be to put a "road" as the dividing part? Has anyone tried doing it with curves or would it be easier to just do a straight road.

A road sounds great! I love that idea. Straight would be easiest because you could just tape straight lines, but curves would not be impossible, you would just have to do the road first, tape it and maybe do a little hand touch up afterwards. Sounds fabulous!

Hi Kat! Did you ever see the room I did for Miles? I painted a road. It was actually super easy. I hate to paint, and I handled it just fine. I painted the top half sky blue, and the bottom half was already an olive-grassy green. I didn't have to pay close attention to seperating the two colors because the road was going to cover it up anyways.

When it was time to do the road I used blue painter's tape. I went around the whole room only doing the top of it first, carefully curving it as I wanted. It was kind of difficult to get a nice clean curve since the tape is straight. Then I went around and measured 6" from the bottom of that top tape and put a little pencil line every few inches so I knew where to put my bottom tape.

I can't remember - do you have a Cricut? I think there's a Cars cartridge. You could get the vinyl and do all the characters from the Cars movie. Oh my gosh, that'd be sooo cute!!

yeah I was gonna suggest Ashley's room for Miles as inspiration...glad you came to post that Ashley. I have the Cars cart...haven't tried to make anything yet, but DS's new twin bed has Cars sheets, and I am (Eventually!) going to make him some Cars wall art on canvas. Sorry I don't have any finished (or even started) at this point to share. Can't wait to see waht you come up with though! My DS LOVES Cars.
