Need teacher appreciation ideas

Staff appreciation week is quickly approaching. I've been helping Jordan's room moms with some of their projects, but we're stuck on one. The theeme the school is using is "Academy Awards". The first grade teacher is getting the award for best "_____" - the blank is filled in with answers the first graders gave to the question on what they thought she should get the award to. But we don't know how to do the poster for the assistant in the classroom. She works with all of the kids, but her primary job is to assist the kids on the autism spectrum. I had suggested a "supporting role" type of awards but the idea fizzled after that. I mean, we want her to feel as important as she is.

I know some of you are teachers and everyone here is pretty creative. Sure would love some ideas on how to do this ... and fast! Wink

Thanks!

I like the supporting role idea because she is a support to the teacher and the students.

I was actually thinking the same thing myself. Our teacher aides are actually called "support staff" so I thought that was perfect when I read it.

I was also thinking the supporting role would be a good idea. When I taught, that's really what our teacher's assistants were to us. I guess that doesn't really help you much though if the idea fizzled out.

I think they'll go with the supporting teacher role kind of theme ... can't wait to see the posters when they're done. Smile
