This is the first thing I've done in AGES!!! (well, I did have to help with a crafty project for Jordan's classroom, but it wasn't anything I personally wanted to get done).
This card was inspired by one Charys sent me when I was pregnant with Jack. That being said, it actually took me FOREVER to do. I made the vellum "lace" with SCAL, after searching for ages to find exactly what I wanted in a cut. This card looks so simple, and really it is, I can't explain why it took me so long. It was hard to photograph, so I have several versions to share.
And now for my question ... do you mark the back of your cards to say "handmade by YourName"? I was entertaining the idea of buying myself stickers to put on the backs of the cards I make. I spend so much time making the cards that I feel like I should take the credit on the back like Hallmark does. Do you?
Great job on the card. I love that you used transparency. That's awesome! I like the lace. I can appreciate how long that must have taken to create.
Yes I do mark my cards. I have a personalized stamp from Close to my heart that says " (my last name) Sentiment". Before then I had made up stickers saying that, sort of in a watermark form.
holy toledo I looove this! Where did you find that adorable stamp? for the front? And the vellum "lace" rocks! Love the "C"!!

it's actually from the scrapbook a day calendar that I had a few years ago. I just cut out the baby/onesie and used that. the back piece is from the same week.
and thanks for the inspiration. It's not as cute as the card you made me, but it came out nice. Ironically, I had the same baby safety pin as the one you used on my card. so totally stole that idea!
LOOOOOVVVEEEEE this!!! I'm going to have to try transparency cards one of these days.
I stamp the backs of my cards with a simple heart stamp. So, no. LOL
cute! for your question, i have a stamp that says "handmade with love" that i used sometimes, but I really want a custom stamp that says "handmade by lauren" or something similar. you could make a label on the computer or something. sometimes i dont stamp that on my cards...btu most of my friends and relatives know they are homemade at this point.
Adorable! I too would love to try working with transparency. Just can't find any around to buy. Super cute!
