one month LO

I finished up Ryne's 1 month LO this afternoon, I also did his two month but after taking a pic, uploading and looking at it I REALLY don't like it so I am trashing it and making a new one LOL. I will probably post that later tonight. But here is this one for now.

Amanda, that is a beautiful page.
BTW, your son's name is so unusual. How do you pronounce it?

Great title! I always like "playing" off a letter, because it catches the eye. Such a sweet photo too. Too bad about the 2nd month layout. I hate when I do that.

Thank You! His name is pronounced Ryan. He is named after a former baseball player and my DH's childhood hero. I wasn't too thrilled about it as first but I have done some research and actually found out that Ryne is the original way to spell Ryan. What happened was when people started to immigrate to other countries and they were uneducated, didn't know how to read and write. They wrote things how they sounded so Ryne became Ryan (how we know it today). I think its interesting now. I actually HATED it throughout my pregnancy and in the beginning but felt like if I didn't let DH have it he would be heartbroken so I went with it. Hey at least I get dibs on naming the next baby Wink

I understand that completely. I found out after my son was born that the orginal spelling was Padrig and I really wish we had known that so we could have named him wiht that spelling. But my DH says no one would have known how to pronounce his name.

thats nice! I know just what you mean about trashing one after taking a pic of it. lol. I have done that a few times myself! That is interesting about how Ryan and Patrick should be spelled. I never knew that about either!

Thats why I really didn't want Ryne. Everyone pronounces it as you see it and I thought it was going to get really old really fast having to correct people but actually I don't mind correcting and people are always fascinated when I tell them the story lol. BTW I would have completely knew that it was patrick even if you would have spelled it padrig. But thats probably just me LOL!

cute LO. I had a patient in the past with the name Ryne, I think named for the same person...but his mom always pronounced it like the river (Rhine)

Yeah everyone outside of Ireland would have butchered it.

That's funny, I knew to pronounce it as "Ryan". I am very familiar w/ correcting (or not even bother correcting...lol) my name.

Very nice. Do you have a page about his name? If not that's definately something for his baby book.
