Organizing ribbon idea

So, I am quite OCD! I love ribbon and have lots of it but hardly ever use it b/c it just gets all tangled up in my tote and makes me crazy. I've searched for ribbon holders and couldn't find what I wanted. Well, I found some handmade wooden ones on EBAY but the shipping was ridiculous. So, last night I was searching and found this idea and made me some today.

I made one without the grommet holes so I could just stuff my little pieces in that one.
Here is the video from You Tube where I found the idea.

did you do smaller jars than her example? just curious how it worked with fitting as much ribbon or if your ribbon pieces were smaller than hers. I guess smaller jars will be better for when my ribon is shorter... Anyway, cute idea...I think the previous owners of our house left some mason jars that we still have (3.5 years later) in the garage....off to turn them into somethign crafty Wink

Yes, mine are smaller but they are also wider. I couldn't find any the size on the video and these were on sale at Kroger!! Wink

Very cute! Great idea. I'm gonna have to save that for later because I am currently in the process of packing my office up. Sad

what a cool idea!! I wonder if baby food jars would work? {{{{{off to search for some I know I've got hidden somewhere!}}}}

They may. The only thing is the mason jars have that flat piece and that's how I got it in my crop-a-dile. I guess you could use baby food jars but you may have to poke the holes some other way.

that's a neat idea!

here's what I did with a paper towel holder thing (I added an extra wooden dowel, as some of my ribbon spools had smaller holes in the center)
