OT - advice re: birthday card

So my twin nieces turn 8 this week. We don't get gifts, phone calls, or cards for birthdays, births, baptisms, and most of the time Christmas from that family (DH's brother). I stopped sending birthday gifts when I stopped working, and have been sending cards instead to recognize the special day of my nieces and nephew (all on DH's side - my siblings aren't married). Only one of DH's 3 siblings sends cards and/or gifts for my kids. Another one always calls and sings on the special day (and she emailed me over the weekend to tell me that she still has last year's Christmas gifts to send).

So apparently I have issues with the situation. Lol That being said, I do want to send a card for the girls, and in the past, I've sent a card for each of them. But I really don't have it in me to create two cards today (as they have to get in the mail ASAP) - do you think the girls would be okay with a single card addressed to the two of them? I feel bad, I feel like I should send one for each. But I don't think I have two appropriate cards in my stash to send. Would you just send one or would you somehow find the time to make two?

Tough decision. With girls, I think you did right by making two cards. I would just do the most simple of cards, but atleast send two, so they would be happy. That's nice of you, even though your kids don't receive them in return. I'm kindof in the same boat with family members..... Sad

I cut out their names for the front, and added heart and flower stickers, and then cut Happy Birthday for the inside. They looked cute. Simple, but still cute.

Yeah, with girls, they seem to need their own things. I hear ya on the family gifts. I could give you some juicy stories about my family.
