Default OT - help me pick a photo

Okay, I'm being silly asking here ... but I can't decide. For my project 365, I don't know which picture to use for yesterday. Help me pick the official one. It's between the first two ... both totally express my day yesterday.

The dishes ... Every night I create a magnificent sculpture of clean dishes. Tonight's sculpture was bigger than usual, and worthy of a photograph.

The cards ... My 19 month old is easily entertained by our playing cards. But today I think he emptied them ALL. I can't begin to tell you how many cards were on the floor, but the colors spoke to me so I grabbed my camera ...

Just for perspective, another view of the cards so you can see the others in focus.

    More cards

Today's photo was a much easier choice ... I didn't do much with my camera today. But I had the urge to photograph the windmill by Natalie's preschool when I picked her up.

Thanks for humoring me! I'll be back in posting mode here tomorrow, I hope. I'm almost done tagging stuff for the consignment sale. Then I have to work on my brother's wall art (as my parents are coming on Friday, and I want them to take the pictures to him). Busy times here!!!!

First I was gonna say dishes, but went back and decided cards. The reason: you can always capture a stack of dishes, because like you said, it's a daily thing right? But the story behind Jack spreading out the cards is a one time event. And the colors captured me too.

    BTW, your photos rock. Really!

Gosh what a hard decision! First off I have to ask, with a family of 6, do you hand wash dishes??? YIKES!!!

My two year old LOVES cards too, particularly if they're in a case she can pull them out of. IF I just give them to her the excitement does not last long.

I agree with Charys and say the cards capture more of the "feel" of the day. They are all such great pics though, just amazing!

I don't wash them all, just the ones that either don't fit in the dishwasher or that I won't put in the dishwasher (there's a difference ) I used four pots/pans on the stove that day, and three of them had lids. I don't put any of those in the dishwasher. I only recently started putting my coffee pot in the dishwasher but only if there's room and I'm about to run it (because I gotta have a clean pot in the morning, so I handwash if the dishwasher isn't an immediate option).

There you have it, more than you wanted to know about my dishes. And DH just came in here and gave me a hard time about being on the computer when I had just told him that I hated starting the day with a sink full of dishes. (I had washed dishes BEFORE dinner to make room on the counter, but was too tired to wash the dinner dishes. God forbid DH ever wash the dishes, but that's another story.) And the dishwasher is waiting to be emptied. My whole life seems to be revolved around dishes and laundry. Which is why the picture of the dishes works.

But Charys is right, I can capture the dishes another day. The cards not so much ... because I'm going to hide most of them so he can't make that mess again! Yesterday's mess was just as bad. Sorting out the 6-7 decks (2 different Uno decks!) SUCKS. So I will leave one deck for him to play with and move the others where he can't even see them.

I just want to say that your pictures are amazing. I've never seen such great pictures of a pile of dishes or a mess I agree with picking the card one.

I agree about the cards. Charys has a good point.

I agree with the other ladies. I would go for the UNO card picture because of the same reason - you can take a picture of your clean dishes masterpiece another day. I love your pictures. You capture the type of memories that I do. It's really neat to see!

I love both photos too but the card one works better for here I think.

Please can I send your hubby a homemade card about helping his wife with the dishes that he and his offspring also use??

Wow thats a great pile of dishes mine would fall over if I did that or Noah would pull them over. I would say the card picture too where the dishes is a daily thing.

    Ok, wait a sec ...

You have 4 kids, a dh and NO DISHWASHER? Woman, you're nuts!

    Now that that's over LOL

I picked the cards - same reason, as the dishes can be another day since it's an everyday thing
